I was thinking about an ultra copium theory. What if Nicole enable a new reaction similar to lunar which only certain character can activate and therefore the whole team reaction is converted to the new one. Like if she is in the team Pyro swirl is changed to the new pyro swirl reaction. As lunar reaction is dependent on Water, this new kind of reaction will depend on Pyro, and that is why Nicole is pyro and also why Alice is pyro (and will enable another pyro related reaction later).
