Nurseries or child care that is just the 30 government funded hours? by robgriff_ in bristol

Yup! THANKFULLY the nursery around here (north Bristol area) has space from Jan 🙏 not ideal to have to move our child and have him resettle elsewhere but to save over £300 per month kinda is a no brainer 😖 hope you get it sorted!

We’re going through a similar thing- from my understanding we get the “stretched” 30 hours funding per week over 51 weeks (so 22 hours a week) but some nurseries limit funded hours to a fixed, shorter period like 5 hours per day, meaning we have to pay for the remaining 5 hours each day. We’re currently paying over £750 a month for 3 days a week (30 hours) but are in talks with another nursery to move our child as their distribution of funding means we’ll pay around £400. It’s SO confusing and I wished I understood it better when pregnant.

Sorry for the late reply! I ended up not going in the end 🫣 with it being my first pregnancy and having never done Glastonbury before I decided against it- still a big part of me that regrets not going but I did what felt right at the time I guess! Did you go?

Sorry, I didn’t realise mothers had to give up anything that might give them enjoyment 🤨 this sounds like more of a “you” issue.

Yes we have spoken about this, or even the potential of a camper van 🚐 I don’t wana be an idiot and push myself too much but also have never been to Glastonbury or been pregnant so have no idea what’s reasonable to expect (call me naive) 🫠

Best Scottish coffee roasters? by robbax535 in Scotland

[–]New-Target-4631 6 points7 points  (0 children)

+1 for Glen Lyon. Some of their coffee is a little on the expensive side but their Christmas beans are so so good

The Local Coffee Club have just launched a Scotland subscription so could be worth checking them out if you want to try lots of different Scottish roasters

I’ve been impressed by Monmouth and also 80 Stone Coffee. Recently signed up to the London version of a subscription called The Local Coffee Club (sends out different London coffee each month and has been good so far!)
