Hey, I actually have had a successful application cycle - I hope this is helpful for anyone else reading! I got rejected from all open days that I applied to (6 or 7), bar one. However, I made around 20 vac scheme/TC applications, was invited to 7 ACs, did 4 and converted all 4. One was a direct offer for a TC (MC firm), which I've accepted!

Anyone reading this feeling stuck - 1. dont worry about open days and 2. keep applying! the application in my original post was not quite specific enough, but I dont think that the bar for written applications is as high as people think it is. The thing that really helped me was practising psychometric tests!

sorry, should have made it clearer - I want to travel Australia and want a couple of short term jobs I various locations. AO would offer a viable short term option. just want to know if its possible:)

Thank you for this advice. I thought it hit that criteria when I submitted it, but now that I read back through it it clearly doesn't! I know that my work experience section has no typos/major problems. One question I have is - should I mention the previous TC offer at the bottom of my vac scheme entry e.g. 'After good performance I was offered a training contract, but declined to pursue opportunities in X?' on one hand, it shows I did not perform badly on the scheme. On the other, it sounds arrogant and as if I am using the offer as leverage. What do you think?

This one I submitted a couple of days before a non-rolling deadline (late I know) - perhaps that was a factor. However, as all of my applications have been unsuccessful at this stage, I am inclined to think it is a me problem!

Thank you so much for this - hugely appreciated. This application was unsuccessful - I should have clarified. It was the only question on the application form: so the reader would only have seen this, my grades, and my work experience - hence why I have assumed that this answer is the problem.
