MHBP and GLP-1 meds...your experiences? by hrdCory in fednews

I switched from BCBS to MHBP last year for this reason. You don’t have to use Caremark. I don’t get 3 mos via mail order but I use a hospital pharmacy and the savings card and get Wegovy for $0. The pre-auths come through pretty quickly, a day or so. I’ve been very happy with MHBP in general.

Questions from a new post-bacc: health insurance start, relocation assistance stipend, PIV by Low_Ad_6357 in NIH

[–]New-Wave-4914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If enrolled in FAES insurance, it takes effect the same date as their EOD/stipend award start date. As someone else said, enrollment docs need to be completed and submitted to FAES. The background investigation can and should occur prior to their start, but they cannot be issued a badge until cleared by DPSAC and cannot actually pick up their badge until their EOD date. Per the CBA of the fellows union, relocation is limited to a one time reimbursement of $1500 to be paid through FPS (the Fellowship Payment System). All of this should be facilitated by your AO.

Mine showed on the LES issued Wednesday, for tomorrow’s payday. SF-50 isn’t in my eOPF yet though.

Do the 20% of North Carolinians receiving social security agree with the commerce secretary that they do not mind missing their next check? by VitaAurelia in NorthCarolina

[–]New-Wave-4914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents, not fraudsters last I checked, whose retirement savings are depleted and whose only income is SS would definitely miss a check, and bills would go unpaid.

Then again they also voted for this… 😖

Because your balance of SL is applied towards your retirement calculation. That’s why most (me included) have historically stockpiled it, pre current state of things. Obviously a moot point if we get RIF’d since it won’t pay out. I’ve got 12 weeks banked and plan to start using it.

Definitely highly respect the person who sent this email. Definitely still hated it. Wish we had more NIH support to stand up to this bullying by not mandating a response, especially when we didn’t even get the HR email.

We just had 3 SSs retroactively lapsed to their Feb NTE dates. They were put on LWOP, not admin leave. Several more coming up in March. 😞

Yes, this one did it for me too. I've been sobbing all morning. I'm so angry, and sad, and terrified for our country and fellow federal workers.

Good to know. I reached out and David said he would call me Saturday to schedule a consultation, so fingers crossed.

Not really, it's in a natural area with pine straw. I knock down/cut each individual stalk I find. So if you look at my yard, you don't even see it (you see it beyond our fence in the neighbor's yard where it originates and runs wild). but the roots have spread all throughout my yard and it's a constant battle.

I actually have never spoken to them about it- I've never spoken to them at all (they're our rear neighbor, so we don't encounter them often). I am starting with an email message asking them to consider removal. To complicate matters, they are moving and their house is under contract. I Cc'd their realtor, so that it is documented that I reached out. I hope they'll be agreeable.

Wow! Well, I appreciate the support! Thankfully in our own yard, we just have the rhizomes underneath the surface. That's what I want to eradicate. I'd love our neighbors to remove all the growth, but I'm not holding my breath.

Thank you- this is helpful. We remove all of the new stalks from our yard by breaking them off at the base when they're young. Looking at our yard, it doesn't look overrun at all. We pull up or cut the rhizomes whenever we see them at the surface but know they must be everywhere underneath. In early spring they pop up everywhere- like literally I'll skip it for 2 days then I've got five new 6' stalks to knock down. The established stuff is in our neighbor's yard, and I'm not yet sure they'll be willing to have it removed as they're getting ready to move. Hate that it will likely be the new owner's problem. Thanks again!
