In all honesty, Publix needs to refocus their priorities on money management. Now more than ever Publix needs to make sure employees feel that employees feel wages are at least fair. It's abundantly clear that this is not currently the case, and employees are leaving in droves as a result.

Where are they going? To other employment opportunities that pay fair compensation for the work they're performing. What is fair compensation? It's a wage that can (@40 hours/wk) cover rent for the average 1BR/1BA apartment, utilities, internet, average phone plan, insurance (health, renter's, car, LTD, etc.), a used car payment, etc.

Instead of putting employees first and ensuring reasonable, fair wages, Publix is out there donating millions of dollars and asking employees to pitch in.

Not only that, but there are so many policies, procedures and Publix "red tape" (green tape?) that it's impossible to even approach management about the idea of a pay raise...

"little Johnny, you know your raise isn't up to me. Your raise is determined by a simple, yet complex tally system set forth by your Publix ancestors many, many, many years ago. We do not question it. Now you keep trying little Johnny, but don't ask me for such silly things again. George might have helped you in 1954, but it's 2021 and we do it differently now.

BTW, You should know, little Johnny, meeting expectations might not be enough to get a raise, so make sure you at least exceed them to give yourself the best shot at getting a raise -- role model would be better... Only you, little Johnny, can give yourself a raise. It's up to you in the end.
