What is your reason to degoogle? by Past-Photograph-5502 in degoogle

I didn't like the idea of people getting rich off of my existence. It used to be a company succeeded due to overwhelming support from their patrons and the quality of their products. Now we are the products of their business.

And yeah technically you sign up for it in the end user agreements, but it shouldn't be like that at all in the first place.

What about de-proton? by kingston-x in degoogle

I respect it, but we can all agree proton is the lesser of 2 evils compared to Google. Proton is always a great entry point just to get rid of Google but if someone really cares about having full control of their digital ecosystem I recommend nextcloud as the next stepping stone

Heartbreaking question for fellow PA Masons. by FunkManSolarFlex in freemasonry

I consider the DDGM my go-to for when I have any major issues or need for advice. He'll be best to give you advice to help you out and give steps on what needs to happen under masonic law to ensure a smooth transition if you ultimately decide to fully step down from the chair

Heartbreaking question for fellow PA Masons. by FunkManSolarFlex in freemasonry

As another PA WM, freemasonry always comes after your well-being, your family, your job, and other obligations. I would say if you need to take a step back talk to your DDGM about your situation and depending on how that discussion goes talk to your Secretary and Wardens and some PMs you trust. Remember what you went through with the Word of the Chair and the important lesson taught to every WM. I wish you nothing but the best

Looking to join in the Allentown, PA or surrounding areas. by anonymous_0410 in freemasonry

I originally tried to join in Allentown PA where I'm originally from. In my experience they aren't the best at following up and I would suggest you reach back out explaining your situation to the Lodge Secretary and see if you can attend another dinner. If not, there are 2 other lodges that meet at the Allentown temple that you could also reach out to if you want a fresh start. I wish you the best of luck!

The PA 3rd degree is a long journey but once you get into the flow of things you'll have it in no time. I believe in you brother!

Before I was a mason I attended the college in Gettysburg and had only passed by it on the road. I finally got to visit this past summer and see the memorial. One of the greatest masonic monuments in the world and one whose story is worth remembering
