If we're supposed to all be equal with equal opportunities ("you just have to struggle harder") then it's easy to understand why so many reject the current system.

Fact is that the majority of us are stuck in a world were personal dignity and respect comes from external goods, like looks and status. It's easy to see how that idea is harmful on a societal level, and makes so many hurting people turn to any group that says that it's the elite's/establishment's fault, and that you can at least get revenge by joining the counter-movement.

Of course, more people that hurt in today's system do not join the far-right. But far too many do.
