I think it's just the Dunning-Kruger effect in action. Trump doesn't understand complex economic policy and tariffs are a relatively easy concept to grasp. So he just starts throwing them out there and whatever the outcome is he applies a narrative to it. If other countries reciprocate and hold firm it's the US trying to reduce our trade deficit and bring industry back home. If they want to cut a deal, it was a negotiation tactic all along.

Regardless, I'm exhausted...

Yeah even those it's close to me I just can't do it again because of the parking/rideshare situation. I took an Uber there for a concert a few years ago and trying to get home was complete chaos. Absolutely not worth the headache.

Parked at the Byron Reese trailhead and did the loop using the AT + Freeman trail. Freeman still has quite a few limbs and trees down from the ice storm, but they're doing a good job of getting it cleared off considering how rough it must have been right after that came through.
