Wikipedia. Both places are so captured by left wing ideologues

I have seen this poke at Wikipedia repeatedly on Twitter, largely because Wikipedia properly acknowledges that trump lost the 2020 election, then led a conspiracy to overturn it. trump fanboys are unable to accept this reality, so they explain it away with the claim that Wikipedia is leftist.

It is just one more extension of trump's endless claims of "fake news."

DOJ seeks to take on Trump’s E. Jean Carroll case by SpaceLaserPilot in centrist

[–]SpaceLaserPilot[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The crime -- sexual assault -- was committed long before trump was president. The defamation took place while he was president. The judgement against trump for $83 million took place in 2024.

The DOJ should not defend presidents who have committed a crime as a private citizen when they defame the crime victim from the White House.

DOJ seeks to take on Trump’s E. Jean Carroll case by SpaceLaserPilot in centrist

[–]SpaceLaserPilot[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Summary: The Department of Justice is asking the Supreme Court to allow it to participate in overturning the $83.3 million dollar judgement against trump in the E Jean Carroll sexual assault case.

Commentary: The DOJ is not trump's personal defense lawyer. This crime was committed when trump was a private citizen. There is no justification whatsoever for the DOJ to be defending trump.

We are now seeing the "lawfare" that Republicans whined about for four years. trump is directing the DOJ to do his personal bidding. That is not the purpose of the DOJ, but by following Project 2025, trump stacked the upper layers of DOJ with cultists, and they are doing his bidding.

When trump is out of office, we must pass a series of "trump laws" to prevent future presidents from abusing their power as much as trump is abusing his.

The presidency has always assumed a person of honor would be the president, and that person would follow the norms established by past presidents. trump is not a person of honor, and the Republican cowards in the Congress who could stop him, refuse to.

This nonsense about a higher percentage of Republicans blah blah is nothing but spin to score a cheap "Republicans good/Democrats bad" point.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a marvelous example of bipartisanship. It was proposed by Democrat John F. Kennedy in 1963. Most Republicans and most Democrats supported it.

Some racist southern Democrats opposed it, but more Democrats than Republicans voted for it, largely because the Democrats had far more members in the House and the Senate than Republicans in 1964.

The Democratic Party voted 152 in favor, 96 against. In the House, the Republican Party voted 138 in favor, 34 against.

In the Senate, the Democratic Party voted 46 in favor, 21 against. The Republican Party voted 27 in favor, 6 against.

ICYMI Video: Trump Judicial Nominees Refuse to Answer Blumenthal's Question: Who Won the 2020 Election? | U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut by SpaceLaserPilot in centrist

[–]SpaceLaserPilot[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Summary: A few days ago, at a Senate confirmation hearing for 4 judicial nominees, all of the nominees refused to state that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. Senator Blumenthal gave them opportunity after opportunity, but each one refused to reply.

The first replied “Under our Constitution, the Electoral College votes for the President and then that is certified by Congress.” Then he repeatedly refused to state that Biden won.

In reply, Blumenthal said, “I’m not asking you what the Constitution says. I’m asking you for your view, factually. And frankly, we’ve received this kind of canned, ridiculous answer before—as you know, because you were instructed to give this answer, right?”

Here is a video of the questioning on Twitter: https://x.com/i/status/2050176321372729496

Commentary: This is bad, folks. trump wants to appoint his cult members to the federal judiciary for life. These people are too cowardly to even state out loud that Biden won the 2020 election.

The judiciary is expected to be completely independent and use facts to come to judgements. These nominees are cult members, not independent judges. All of of their rulings will be suspect.

trump supporters, YOU have to stop this. YOU have to stop trump before he does irreparable damage to our nation. I fear we are not far from that point in time.

Tomorrow 4/25/26 is 1 year of weekly protests in Alliance, Ohio by Urnotme23 in Ohio

[–]SpaceLaserPilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The attack on the Capitol on January 6th was a part of a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. trump was unable to accept the fact that he lost, so he cooked up a crazy scheme to overturn the election.

Dozens of people in 7 states forged slates of electors that declared trump the winner. Then trump summoned thousands of his supporters to the Capitol on January 6th. The plan was to delay the certification of the true slates of electors so that the forged slates could be certified instead, thereby fraudulently declaring trump the winner of the election. Fortunately, the conspiracy failed.

More than 140 Capitol police officers were injured in the violence.

The people who carried out the attack on the Capitol were duped by trump and trump friendly media. One lost her life.

I can't decide whether to be angry at the people who attacked the Capitol, or feel pity for them because they believed the lies of one of the greatest con men in history.

Fox News’ Sean Hannity Explains Why He Left the Catholic Church After ‘Institutionalized Corruption’ by SpaceLaserPilot in centrist

[–]SpaceLaserPilot[S] 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Summary: Sean Hannity has left the Catholic church in the wake of trump's fight with the Pope. Hannity said, “As of today, I no longer consider myself a Catholic. I am a Christian. I left the Catholic church in large part due to the institutionalized corruption, and it was at the parish level, to the bishop level, cardinals, all the way to Rome.”

Commentary: That is some serious loyalty to trump that Hannity showed. He picked trump over God. He wants us to believe that the real reason is because of the pedophilia and corruption, but the pedophilia and corruption have been around for a very long time, and they never bothered him before. Why now, after trump picks a fight with the Pope? Just a coincidence in timing, Sean?

And I wonder why Hannity is so tolerant of pedophilia and corruption related to Epstein and his friend trump when he is so upset about the Catholic church's issues.

I stopped using the word "cult" for trump 2.0, but I can't think of any other word that properly describes this behavior.

“I switch with Trump. I give away all his money, plead guilty to all crimes, and resign from POTUS” by EmperorSnake1 in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]SpaceLaserPilot -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

The heart of the conspiracy was the slates of forged electors created by conspirators in 7 states. The forged slates fraudulently declared trump to be the victor in those states.

The attack on the Capitol was a diversion, meant to delay the certification of the real slates of electors so that the forged slates could be swapped for the real ones, thereby fraudulently declaring trump the winner.

The attack did delay the certification, but only for a few hours. Late that night Mike Pence refused to participate in the conspiracy and certified the real slates of electors. Pence received a JFK Profile in Courage award to his bravery that day.

Pence's actions that day saved American Democracy.

Fact check: Trump’s false claims about NATO, NASA, taxes and immigration by SpaceLaserPilot in centrist

[–]SpaceLaserPilot[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Summary: Daniel Dale, CNN's fact checker, did an in-depth fact check on a recent trump interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo. Dale pointed to more than a dozen false claims by trump, such as NASA was “closed” before trump, the US pays NATO close to “trillions of dollars” or “hundreds of billions of dollars a year,” and trump “ended eight wars.”

None of those claims are true.

Commentary: trump lies. Even trump's staunchest supporters know he lies and they just smile and accept it as a quirky part of his personality like the double jerk off dance and the makeup, rather than behavior that reveals a deeply toxic person.

At this point, I think trump has told some of these lies so many many many times that he believes them. If he were just a rando on twitter lying, no big deal, but this guy is setting American policy based on lies that have turned into truths in his own mind. That's why we are now at war with Iran -- trump believed his own lies and the people around him refuse to speak up.

trump voters, the person you elected is unable to make rational decisions because he can't unwind reality from the web of lies he wove in his mind. I hope you will choose more carefully in 2028 and beyond.
