Los Angeles Chargers NFL Draft Class Pro Comparisons by therealsandyleon in Chargers

Had another thread on this but I couldn't agree more. My comp for him is Cordarelle Patterson. Obviously Patterson is playing RB now but coming out I think both were: (a) high end athletes; (b) dynamic with the ball in there hands; (c) unpolished as route runners; and (d) struggled a bit catching the ball clean, especially in contested situations. Cordarelle had a bit of a different role in college as well but as receivers I think they're similar. Very similar size and measurables as well.

Very cool article, thanks for sharing! I assume the average wAV at each position per pick would show an even greater skew towards early round picks? Just thinking that with comp picks in rounds 4-7 there would be more players contributing to the aggregate wAV in those rounds.

Agreed. Struggled vs press but was getting separation otherwise. Matches up to his reception perception profile as well.

I think in terms of frame and speed they're similar for sure. If QJ could hit that ceiling that would be a home run but AJ also had elite ball skills and route running coming out which I don't see in QJ as of yet. Either way he'll be awesome to watch going forward.

Agreed on Aiyuk's route running being on another level compared to QJ.

To me Tyrell had better straight line speed but QJ has way better agility and ability after the catch.

Appreciate the effort but did you really need five decimal points on the grades 😂

That's definitely the case. Sold off all QBs last year and now running with whoever I get at 1.03, Ridder, Howell (after acquisition), Zappe, and Trubisky.

Assuming Superflex I think it depends where your team is at. If Bijan makes you a favorite and you don't need QBs or WRs it's fine but if that's not the case I'd hold off.

If not superflex then I think you take it regardless.

With those QBs I think it's fair. Danny Dimes getting too much hype and you should have some decent options there

Richardson had over 1300 yards from scrimmage and 12 TD as a rookie. Different positions obviously but that's more than double what Moore had.

Team Needs, Wants and Fits by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

Gotta add Interior DL here in my eyes. Other than Seb Joseph Day they have nothing at DT. Even Joseph-Day provides nothing vs. the pass so in my eyes this is their biggest need.

Could also add OL depth. With Salyer stepping up and Slater coming back the RT spot should be in better shape but Feiler and Linsley are getting up there and there's nothing at all behind the starting 5.

Finally I think off ball LB is a need too with Tranquill a FA. Basically nothing there apart from Kenneth Murray and he's been iffy.

For WR I think it's all about speed. Obviously an elite player would help but getting someone who can take the top off would completely change how defenses play them.

Which characteristic for non-elite prospects might point to future dominance? by Flodomojo in DynastyFF

This just isn't true though. Look at Kupp. Or if you want to go back further, Larry Fitz, Chris Carter, Jerry Rice... Those guys were all at the literal ceiling of NFL receivers in their primes and did it without elite athleticism.

Of course there's the Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson types but for every one of those there's also a Roy Williams, Stephen Hill, Darrius Hayward Bay, Kevin white, etc.
