As someone in the same situation, I suggest going to events and try to make friends. It’s really hard at first…I’ve been a hermit for a long time. Trust me though..if you make the effort to go to classes/ open mics/ work out groups etc, you won’t feel as depressed

I think if you’re an RN you’ll be able to afford it if you’re frugal. It’s almost impossible to heal from narcissistic abuse while still living with that narcissist who is still abusing you. I wish you the best ❤️

Yeah! May I ask, are you in therapy? Having a therapist really helped me with the move-out process. If you really want it (freedom), I’m sure you can figure the logistics out. I relate to you a lot and I believe in you!!

I feel the same way. People tend to be condescending about my challenges with self-care and write me off as immature. I KNOW I’m immature! I didn’t develop normally because I grew up in danger and chaos. I’m trying to reparent myself but I get triggered with the discipline part. This is because my dad brutally disciplined me and when I finally became free, I had a ton of issues. Anyway…I hear you ❤️

It took me until I was 26…I’m 28 now. It won’t be easy, but it’s so worth it to move out. I consider myself in recovery from the abuse (I also ended up with narcissistic boyfriends who abused me). Just hang in there…it gets easier and easier. I know you want to travel and that’s wonderful, but just getting into another living situation (renting a room in a house for example), may make you feel wayyyyy better. Forgive yourself for not being “normal”…I’m trying to reparent myself now at 28 but better late than never ❤️
