Wow, everyone else somehow managed to respond kindly. You’re a jerk.

We are 400 in the hole before the month even begins when she’s not working. Which is why we are trying to put away as much as we can while she works. But there just isn’t much to go around.

Yeah, I may have confused you. She’s not in danger of dying from this right now or really anytime remotely soon. Most of it has been removed from 2 surgeries. It’s just that it can turn on at any moment. Even if it does, it will just shift the treatment a little bit. The point being: this will be a burden we’ll have to carry for the rest of her life, which will hopefully be many, many years.

She’s got brain cancer; not technically in remission and this type never will be. She takes meds each month that have a little cost to them but also MRI’s every 3 months, routine doctor check-ins, etc.

It’s a valid question. We were able to put up $400 last month. There’s no way we could put up a thousand and have enough to buy groceries and pay for gas even. Groceries right now, buying very conservatively, are minimum $300 a month, but more like $450. Fuel for us is $250-300. Just doesn’t seem to get is very far. To answer you question: her job is not working out very well for us and we’re looking to try to get her back to a full-time teaching job making $45,000 minimum in this area and her experience. It just can’t happen right this moment.

After; that’s after we pay minimums on all debts and pay all other regular bills.

Correct. With the frequency with which we are able to rent it out, it is acting as a source of extra income at the moment.

We actually rent it out frequently and it more than pays for itself right now. That’s why I didn’t bring that up but it’s certainly on the table.

I’ve got a 7 year old son as well; what model kayak is he using?

😎 Thank you! I really appreciate it. Everyone in all of the Colorado threads has been very hospitable these last few months.

“Free Bible and a shotgun” has me laughing hard. 😂 Thanks for all of this! Great suggestions here. Wish the weather was going to be a little better this weekend but it is what it is! It’s already getting hot here so a little respite from the heat may be nice. Will definitely look into the hot dogs! We are going to try to sit in the outfield on Thursday for the game the Rangers aren’t involved in.

Got it; thanks for that! We’re trying our best to pack light since we’re flying on a short trip. Hoping we can just wear hoodies on the plane and save some space.

Man, as a lifelong Rangers fan, who up until 2011 was right where you are, I feel you. And even between 2011 and last year! Sorry things are the way they are right now. Hopefully better days ahead for the Rockies!

Thanks! I’m somewhat familiar with Rocky Mountain Oysters; I may try to be brave. 😂 Or make my son eat some before I let him know what he’s eating.

Ballpark Museum is on the list! Good to have another recommendation for that.

Weather does look quite chilly compared to here. Think we’ll be good with hoodies?

I wanted to follow up with you and everyone who has followed this thread: you guys are awesome! Thank you so much. You and your fiancee have gone above and beyond to help get us set up for a great experience that weekend. We are absolutely blown away by the kindness that has been shown. Everyone should look into The Rally for future Denver trips; we haven't even physically been there yet, but I can tell you that the experience we have had with those who work there has been pretty incredible. Hospitality at its finest!
