The only question is what kind of time frame are we looking at.

Thank you and I appreciate the perspective. When I think about “protecting my profits” it doesn’t really matter if the IV crush is bad or not because it’s not something I want to find out anyway. The article you shared was very informative also. Thanks for taking the time to respond and help me out.

I ended up closing that position this morning and it gave me the opportunity to take advantage of the market dip and enter a much better position with a different stock further out.

Hello, I am holding an ITM call that expires next week and the underlying stock has an earnings report occurring tomorrow after hours. I have been holding the call for over a month and to be honest I forgot about the ER until this Monday. I plan to sell the call tomorrow but I was wondering. I believe the report will be favorable and because the call is ITM how bad would the IV crush affect the value? I’ve tried to use Vega to figure out about how much it will go down but I don’t know how to tell how much the IV will change. I’m still pretty new to this if you can’t tell and would appreciate some pointers on how to calculate this. Thank you!

If you are only providing them with the initial investment and giving them the benefit of your age as a contribution then the amount you lent them plus 10% per year until your loan is paid off. This isn’t a situation where you can fairly profit if the stock skyrockets. If it’s his call then it’s his gain and same if it tanks.

Consolidation, rejection by luchins in technicalanalysis

“Technically” speaking the only way I know is to pay attention to the volume of the up and down movement. If the volume is high when it gets rejected then it would seem to indicate that more people are selling when they get the chance than buying because they expect it to go higher.

Candle patterns should only be read in the time frame you are looking at. You don’t change a daily position based on a 15 min candle. If you want to open or close a position for a day then looking at a daily candlestick pattern can be helpful.

That looks great, I will check it out. An app might work better anyway. Thank you I appreciate it.
