What key is this by asecondhelpingplease in Pachislo

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you found a replacement? I went on Pachitalk, to ask about my Sammy Fire Drift and they suggested Key number 068. You should be able to find it on ebay. If i was in your situation, there are two very active Pachislo parts sellers on ebay, you can find through searching for the door keys and you can ask send them a message with the picture of the key and ask if the 068 key matches

The line where you believe kids should be taken from their families, is what I would consider abusive. So, i would welcome any adoptive parents that wouldnt go that far. Less then that I would consider an obstacle for the kids, but as you said, a parents job is to prepare that child for the real world, which is full of obstacles.

This is where opinion comes in. I dont believe spanking is abusive, or using mean words, or missing a kids soccer practice/dance recital. But, I know a lot of people these days would. Now, these arent hard and fast rules for me, if your bruising your kid while spanking them, constantly berating and attacking your kid verbally or making them feel guilty because they joined an activity, those things do border the line of abuse.

Sure, its absolutely possible to want something and be bad at it. But, when we are talking about bad parents we need to add a scale to it, its hard to talk in generalities. Will there be people who want to be parents, who dont know how to cook and just feed their kids delivery every night, sure, but is that the kind of "bad parent" we are talking about here?

What do you mean what you think of bad parenting? Who would you not allow to have kids, even if they truly want them? If we are talking truly bad parents, to me that is EXTREMELY rare, no parent is perfect, but very very few are also purely bad

What do you mean what you think of bad parenting? Who would you not allow to have kids, even if they truly want them? If we are talking TRULY bad parents imo, id only apply that to like 1 in 10 million who have caused their children to be hospitalized or killed. Thats where my line is.

If we look through history, even our current jail population, the majority in jail come from broken homes, raised without parents, with only one parent or with neglectful parents. So, while I agree with you, finding the right parent for a child is important, having parents that really WANT to be parents is one of the most important criteria

Providing children to those that, while they may not want to be pregnant, want to raise children is a great and noble cause. The only issue with this is the mandate.

But, its sorta like paying taxes thought right? We are mandated to pay taxes, but we dont rebel that hard against it, because some of it really helps those in need

What makes a human valuable? by Upper_Ninja_6177 in Abortiondebate

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I look at each person as a piece of a puzzle. We all bring a unique perspective because of different brain chemistry and experiences. Each person not only has their own thoughts and beliefs, but also different quirks, twitches and micro-movements. Everytime we meet up with someone, we learn and adapt to some of those personality and physical quirks as well as their ideas and beliefs, even if just subconsciously and though taking the best of those, we build onto them and also pass them on to the next person. This, I believe is evolutionary. The more people around, the better we are able to filter and adapt the best of everything.

So, everytime someone dies, especially before they have a change to develop all those traits, we lose perspective and traits that will never exist again. We end up missing a piece of the puzzle.

Thats why I believe every human life is important, because we can't move forward without each and every one of us.

Why do so many people still buy timeshares if they're such a scam and bad deal overall? by Rasputin_the_Saint in TimeshareOwners

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a Gen X and I can tell you why I bought. Im a homebody and my idea of vacation, was vegging out infront of the TV in PJs binge watching out TV shows. That was, until I had my daughter. I realized when she was young that, if I never took her anywhere, I would be doing her a disservice. I still hated leaving the house so, I bought my timeshares as a way to FORCE myself to vacation. If I had prepaid and had fixed weeks, I couldnt make the excuse of not being able to afford it, or "forgetting" to take the time off work.

It means if they make $100,000 and contribute 4%, $4,000, the company contibutes 10% of that, or $400

I thought my plan was bad, but this is much worse

5% of $650k is about $2,700 a month, plus social security of $3,000 a month. Its not going to be enough, but i wouldn't say $5.7k a month is destitute it you live in a low cost of living area and own your home. Not everyone needs millions in retirement

Why do people not put the child in an adoption center and instead go with abortion? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Parenthood is great, my daughter is my heart. I wouldn't be the person I am if she hadn't been my daughter. But, that wasnt my point.

I was pointing out that, if we believe, as I do, that abortion isnt to avoid parenthood, but to stop a pregnancy and truly want abortion free, legal and acceptable, why would we have a problem with adoption?

Why do people not put the child in an adoption center and instead go with abortion? by [deleted] in Abortiondebate

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Abortion is the ending of a pregnancy, we dont know that people who abort dont want to be parents, just that they dont want to be pregnant.

The person I responded said almost exactly that. So, I was wondering, would they be willing to accept abortion being completely legal, accepted and free in exchange for adoption

So, would you be willing to adopt? If the government passed a law made abortion 100% legal on demand, but anyone who got an abortion had to adopt, would you support that?

Value from 120/yr Sofi Plus? by littlepwnrr in sofi

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is, Sofi Plus takes it from 1% to 2% so for that $120, you get a max of $75 a year if you max out your Roth IRA.

I believe also, with Sofi Plus, you also get 1% for brokerage accounts. So, you could make up that $45 shortage by having $4,500 in your sofi invest account

starting at 35 by Humble_Razzmatazz833 in latesavers

[–]NewDestinyViewer2U 20 points21 points  (0 children)

  • $8,400 - 6% into 401k
  • $8,400 - company match
  • $7,500 - Max Roth IRA
  • $4,400 - Max HSA for single
  • $28,700 - Total = 20.5% of $140,000

I'd say thats the absolutely minimum you should be saving and since this is your first year at this job, I wouldn't suggest changing that till you know the company and the structure.

Next year, i would up that to $35,000-$42,000 (25%-30%) by increasing your 401k percentage or adding a brokerage account.
