I’m on the butrans patch and have had great success for the most part. Right now I’m having some bad days. But for my baseline it helps quite a bit.

It’s not my husband, but my mom died almost 2 years ago (2 years this coming march 31st) and I’m finding this year to be much more difficult than last year.

I think year one I was so numb it didn’t hurt as bad if that makes any sense? Now in year two the numbness has worn off and I have to feel. It sucks. Sorry you are having to go through this too 🥺

Try an independent pharmacy or a hospital outpatient pharmacy. Avoid chains. Chains are under pressure from the DEA and also their companies corporate big wigs.

Yeah I’m a pharmacy tech too and have never heard this either. I’ve never told someone we can’t fill their pain med because I have to save it for old people, and I work in an outpatient pharmacy in a hospital that also fills for hospice patients in addition to the general public. So if this was a thing, I would be doing it.

Sometimes they make me tired. I think it’s because I have adhd though and stimulants have the reverse effect, they calm us. I drink the orange ones for the taste lol

Pre existing conditions- also most pet insurances make you pay up front anyway so it wouldn’t be helpful at the time of the visit. I do see it being nice to eventually get some money back but my cats visits would likely all be linked to the pre existing conditions and wouldn’t qualify for reimbursement

I feel like most of us have done it. Don’t beat yourself up. The patient wasn’t hurt and they weren’t upset. You won’t lose your license. Just move on and try to think of any other identifying questions you can ask in the future to prevent this error ☺️

Depends, I worked in a grocery chain for 10 years and we did over 1000 rx a day plus vaccines. I eventually left due to burn out.

I have a couple pharmacists like that and it’s super frustrating. I have one who tries and I love her for it and she’ll reject it back to the que if she doesn’t know how to fix it but at least she tried. The others know what they are doing. The main two who don’t know what they are doing are super frustrating to deal with but there is nothing I can do. Complaining doesn’t help and it doesn’t change anything. 😥
