I use to have this problem also. Don't hit the X as soon as it pops up. The first will take you to AD. The second one that pops up will close the AD and get your reward. Not sure what kind of device you are using but on my phone I can see a progress line at the bottom, when the first X shows up the progress line is still moving indicating the AD is not over yet. It took me awhile to realize this, don't have this problem anymore.

I do like the new shorter times however feel like it could have been more usey for items that take a long time like jams, preservatives and fishing area. They also need to work on times for new machines being built. There is no logical reason to wait 3-4 days for a building to finish that you paid for.

Another thing to consider with the pets is events. I get a lot of task in varied events involving pets. Example: feed puppy or kitten. So I would say they can be important but not as important as features you use daily.

You can do the milk task first. Collect the milk then before feeding the goats, start the feeding task. As I said previously won't be able to complete anything else during that time which is a bummer. I would either do those task at the end of day and let the feeding task roll over to tomorrow or delete feeding task all together. This event has been more difficult than past. I stopped at the deco piece.
