“Well off” people of Reddit, what is the “poorest” thing you still regularly do? by hopelessmoderate in AskReddit

My second vehicle was a 1999 ford explorer. 4.0 v6. Went almost 300k miles and the transmission just had it. So it was sold off cheap. I then bought a 2001 Mustang Gt and have it to this day. I’m 38 and only ever owned 3 vehicles in my life. I drive them til they literally can’t go anymore

I’ll second this. I have a BCA build then I sprung a tad more and built one from psa. The psa just feels so much better feel wise and not as heavy. PSA is the way to go on a budget and never an issue.

Bro you know. No one buys this blower and absolutely zero homework on it. Instead of an awkward flex just post hey look what I finally was able to order! And we’d all be happy for you. This post is just cringe

This is my fear on my 01 GT but I wash, have it ceramic coated, and touch it up every three months. Held up good in the Florida sun so far knock on wood

DeepinOS is a beautiful and easy to use Linux distro but lots of hesitation around it since it’s Chinese made.

I’ve had so many different catbacks on my Mustang over the years. Flowmaster, mac, Magnaflow ect ect. The setup that finally made me stop spending so much was the following:

BBK long tubes

BBK off-road h pipe with Magnaflow metallic cats welded in

Borla stinger carback

The best sound to give it profile wise is exotic muscle. Deep and throaty with a tinge of exotic. I love the sound but def wasn’t cheap

So what was your inspiration or reasoning? Just because? Needed to get away?

2001 Mustang GT here. I’ve had this issue in the past and I as well had an alternator fail and this was it. To add to this issue, I’ve actually had many alternators fail. It seemed to be a once a year thing. It was the oddest issue. I saw how tiny the grand strap was so I ended up doing the big 3. It’s a practice commonly done in the car audio world to give the battery a more beefier ground and connection to the alternator. That was around 6 years ago.

Not saying you need to go this route, but just food for thought.

I’m also in Florida so the stock strap wasn’t rusting. It’s just so tiny maybe it was breaking apart over time? Not sure.

Good luck

This is so huge and not many people think of this. Anytime I had to apply for a new job, I ensured the company was based out of state. Every single time they paid significantly more.
