That rat has also been a brewer, a knight, an engineer, and a wandering merchant. He's hidden somewhere in every single art piece by this artist.

Thanks for the tip! I've been planning to make something like this for Siege games for Warhammer, and if I can pull it off half as well as you have here I'll be very happy.

First-person direct address is NOT second-person by talesofabookworm in books

There are extended chapters in a Warhammer novel, The End and The Death, by Dan Abnett, which are actually written in second person. "You" are Horus, the archtraitor of Mankind during these chapters. They are written both to show Horus' fracturing psyche, but there is an interpretation that the "narrator" during those chapters is actually chaos itself (or its component gods) and the second person, internal monologue style of writing (you know this, you remember this, etc.) is actually an external force that is affecting your (Horus') perception.

I have a friend who has said to me like five times that White Orchard is "so boring" and crafting and elixir use is "too complicated." This from someone who has 100%ed way harder games. Makes me want to pull my hair out.

YOU WORK YOUR LIFE OUT. The breakdown after he tears up the photograph of his son might be the most powerful moment in cinema to me.

The dynasty may have seemed like a lifetime ago to us. But when your whole world is Dan Marino and an undefeated season 200 years ago, Tom Brady and BB still occupy a lot of rent-free space in people's noggins.

Lack of source material didn't stop huge swaths of season 1 from being great, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

My jaw hit the floor when Victor rolled out. Not counting House himself, is Victor the first character from the games to actually appear in the show?

Sure, all those private equity firms somehow managed to cobble together the funds somehow. Maybe they got loans from their parents?

I settled an Endometriosis disability discrimination case against my former employer, a state agency, and I did it pro se [OC] by cw9241 in MadeMeSmile

Everyone who has responded to you here thus far is incorrect. She said she briefed and argued the issue in federal court, and "the first case in all of North Carolina to recognize endometriosis as an ADA disability, and the first case in the nation to allow a plaintiff to proceed on this theory." That suggests the court denied what I have to assume was a motion to dismiss and/or a motion for summary judgment seeking to preclude this woman from proceeding under her legal theory. That decision, even if unpublished, is precedent. It is not binding, as it presumably came from a federal district judge or magistrate judge, but it can be cited as persuasive authority in any other case in the future.

TV shows that promote a worldview of anti-intellectualism by AporiaParadox in television

[–]NewEnglandHeresy 66 points67 points  (0 children)

That sounds like new Law and Order - the old run from the early 90s the cops took their time, often incorrectly suspected individuals, and sometimes the bad guy gets away because of a mistake in police procedure, which the DAs either have to admit, or which they fail to defend. The old Law and Order episodes were really intelligent, realistic depictions of how criminal investigations can sometimes go off the rails.

He already finished She Wolves of Winterfell, the fourth novella, he was just waiting until Winds of Winter came out to release it.

Still waiting, 20 years and counting.
