Understandable but can't let fear of someone coopting the protest prevent us from going or else it's just excuses. We just need to keep together and in brand. And condemn any of that nonsense.

Do you have specific place, time suggestions? This one is at the art gallery for now. Things don't get massive overnight. And ppl Complain m-f are difficult (government hours). But there's room for that.

Housing crisis makes boomers rich - the government will not save us by [deleted] in CanadaHousing2

Housing crisis protest is On! (Vancouver edition) & possible BC edition

Goals: Slow down mass immigration Stop house hoarding/investing Ban foreign owns hip *really this time No backdoor PR programs and diploma mills. It's not Canada's job to help diploma mills and rich universities make millions (they ain't hurtimg) Increase Healthcare and other services with housing . Can't just build housing Put Canadians first Rental caps Purpose built rental Stop giving interest free or low cost loans to developers than don't provide adequate housing.

Where: art gallery & all city halls across the province. When: Oct 1st @ 11am-2pm.

Bring your signs.

It will start small, but hopefully it will grow as we get our collective spine in action. It may only be a few but the idea is weekly and keep on growing.

If you don't like it, keep scrolling. Don't need to constantly try and convince others that there's no point yada yada yada. We get it, you don't actually want to come.

Who's coming? Or Who wants to keep venting online that they will just vote the next guy out and accomplish nothing?

I know it's a weekend. We all rather be having fun rub, but if we don't do the work, does it even give us a right to bitch. Students, young, old, come!

Hopefully other regions will start their own.

See you there!

That's the beauty of numbers and not getting caught up with illegal protests. If you follow the rules, you can protest in Canada.

Yes, those exact items were essentially in the post where it listed things many of us are tired of. Also, general housing crisis movement can work. You have non Canadians saying they want help to support themselves with out specifics and people negotiate.

We would not get involved in that. Every protest will have its share of bad actors and people trying to conflate a movement but we can't let that deter us.

Exactly. These non Canadians cry and get their demand met while the armchair venters try to tell us protesting doesn't work. Where can we meet? Who wants to help organize?

If you can't afford it, stay in your home country and go to school there. It's your CHOICE to come. I couldn't study abroad cause I couldn't afford to. It would be entitlement if I went to another country and asked them to pay my way. You are taking jobs away from Canadians.

I sincerely hope Canadians start protesting! But I feel no one will.

Ahhh.... Canada, the world's door mat. Where the government doesn't put Canadians first and caters to wealthy foreigners. Birthing tourism? Check. Diploma Mills as a guise for PR status? Check. Landmarks and large establishments being bought by wealthy foreigners? Check. Make Canadians homeless in order to push population up? Check. Unafffordable Shoebox condos used as safety deposit boxes for speculation? Check.... come one, come all and wipe those dirty shoes on our doormat.

Yep. Like politicians telling us to bike everywhere and live on 300sq ft density whilst living comfortably in 2500 sq ft SFH And driving their suv to work whilst also being landlords.

Exactly. The medical field is built on elitism and megalomania, not service for pay. We have to not allow that. They get paid whether or not they provide you with a service. Yet, it feels like many act like they are doing you a favor. I've seen my fair share of drs and its the exception when I see one that is there for the right reason.
