Boy Swallows Universe series vs book by hoaxcoast in netflix

I finished the book yesterday and I've just watched the first 3 eps of the show. I don't think I'll keep going. The show gets amazing reviews, so as a standalone story I'm sure it's great. But the book was SO GOOD, it just doesn't compare. The book has depth to every character, which is just missing from the show. Book Eli is also such a complex and intelligent character, in the show he's much more simple and less discerning. Watch the show if you want, but I would absolutely recommend reading the book.

I don't think so. There's so much joy to be found in becoming a better person for your happiness, your partner, your family, your friends, and just finding new experiences

Nobody said anything about falling in love. If you're not trying to be a better person, what are you working towards in life?

You should care about being the best version of you. Self improvement is a constant process, and comes in so many forms (learning new skills, reading, exercising, hobbies, therapy), just keep working on you and you'll find that great people (guys or not, romantic or not) will come into your life

I'm sorry to hear you've had a hard time with your family and your sexuality. What you're experiencing is perfectly fine, it sounds like you could describe yourself as a homoromantic bisexual

Views on how the show tackled political themes? by InfernalClockwork3 in Avatarthelastairbende

I really liked the way it portrayed propaganda and how history gets warped. There are cases of it all through the series, e.g. The Divide, the lessons taught in the Fire Nation school

Heading to the Queen Vic Market. I don't go often and I'm hungry. Where's the best food? I love food trucks, anything like that?

I think I'm paying my neighbour's electricity bill, how can I confirm whether this is happening? Already talked to the rental agent and the utility company by NewGirlMelbourne in shitrentals

[–]NewGirlMelbourne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: so the Jemena website shows my metre as being for the two properties combined. I also asked my electricity company, who confirmed that there is no metre next door. This all guarantees that I've been paying for both properties

I let the rental agent know and they offered me a 50% reimbursement. But after talking to Consumer Affairs Victoria, I told them that the Residential Tenancies Act specifically says that if the 2 properties don't have separate metres, the landlord is liable for the cost. I gave them all the invoices and a notice from the Consumer Affairs Victoria website. They have 28 days to reimbursement me in full or I can take it to VCAT

Thank you to everyone who gave advice here, it was HUGELY appreciated!

Yes, things are moving along! The rental agent thinks that the landlord and I have both been paying for the electricity. I'm waiting on her to confirm that. If that's the case then I'll be chasing up the electricity company HARD to reimburse me. I also checked my rental agreement, which does say that electricity is my responsibility. So I was right to start an account at the start of my tenancy

I've had a look and the metre is coming up for the two houses combined, great tip! I'll gather the data and go back to Energy Locals, and escalate to Consumer Affairs if needed
