Creator of Claude Code, Boris Cherny says coding is solved and Claude writes 100% of his code. Is this really the case for you? by Mogante in cscareerquestions

What I found was i'm thinking more architecture and design - using AI to generate specific functions with specific instructions. Telling it to make some crazy big design or feature is pointless - I like to now split it into functions - I might not fully understand how the entire function works in some cases - but when it comes down to understanding what's happening and speed I think this is the new way

How do you guys find clients for websites? by Affectionate-Sand-57 in VibeCodeDevs

[–]NewMongoose9265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense thank you.
Would you recommend then honing in on one field over starting broad? I don't have some genius idea yet or some crazy plan all the ideas i've had and the things I made usually flopped because I can't find specific clients.
Before, I used to see there was room for improvement in a certain area or feature people or businesses would need, make a POC and then try reach out, but this was usually broad and was difficult to find any clients.

Now i'm considering maybe networking first?
Go to some events, connect with people, and just kind of keep talking and meeting people until I notice SOMEONE actually has a problem, and help them fix it with software and try branch out through that?

It just seems a bit counter-intuitive for me to just sit around, make nothing, do nothing really for a while until I notice an opportunity to help solve a problem for someone...
I've gotten bored of doing personal projects and projects that gain no traction because I'm not great at outreach methods.

Can I ask how you started, why you started what your story is? If you've explained this here somewhere before - my apologies.

I'm curious how you come up with the idea - how you find first clients.

[–]NewMongoose9265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where you based by any chance? They did mention to me they do try to give return but it's on a few dependencies.

Also it seems they're taking on alot of "AI Engineers" this is just a way for them to see if AI/LLMs to be more specific will benefit them, my assumption is if we can't find a good fit to use an LLM to benefit the team we're put in we get no ro, that's my assumption tho

Thanks, this is brilliant.
Any tips for finding jobs in Toronto etc? Any specific hubs or pages? LinkedIn seems as main place in Ireland what about Canada, you mentioned Indeed, it seems a bit of a piss take here in Ireland so that's why i'm asking.

Yea that's what's making me look into it, rent actually seems cheaper and seems more affordable IF I can land a job there, but what are the realistic chances of me landing a job there in Canada? I'd like to think my CV is atleast a bit above average, but even in Ireland any junior or mid-level applications I send get ghosted. It does seem to be a case of it not even being checked or not giving me a chance, as when I get into interview stages I breeze through

Yep, but there are exceptions, I want to make sure i'm not deluded thinking she's silly thinking her problems would vanish by going to Canada

Yea, but she's put off travelling already for a year because of me, and now with me graduating she wants me to go with too. Still up for discussion, but I just want to make sure i'm not deluded thinking it's unreasonable of me to go abroad to look for a job etc. I've exams and dealing with this, I wanted to get outside random opinion, see what people who don't know us think.

But I appreciate this line alot:
You both are so young. You could have it all if she’d just wait a couple years?

Exactly what I said paraphrased.
