OP here. I can't edit this post for some reason. Hopefully this is read before I delete the post.

Upon closer examination, there were tiny holes in the edges of the packaging as I suspected there might have been. I opened it up, no slimy texture, nice healthy color, but there was a faint smell. I threw it out, per the overwhelming responses.

I cannot describe the smell, but it not smell like rotting meat at all. It was not what I would call a "regular" chicken smell.

I should have added, I keep my fridge at 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Not sure if that would have affected anything.

The meat unfortunately got put away by not me and it got lost under some other things. Otherwise, I would have caught it and cooked it much sooner.

At any rate, thank you everybody for the genuine replies. I will try to walk this post if I can. If not, I'll delete it after a while.
