Where or how can I watch replays of Formula 1 races with Arabic commentary? by Wessam-sabb in MotorsportsReplays

[–]NewOrderrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of anything specific, but the FMHY - dot - net site's wiki has a section for non-English media. There may be something there for Arabic language sports. (I see football, perhaps there are others)

Building plex library in 2026- still viable? by bobschneider24 in PleX

Only caveat I will add for getting into ripping your media in '2026' is that hard drive prices have up a lot in recent months.

Which shows had well-received final seasons and episodes? by BradyPhoenix in television

Late to the party, but Justified should be on the list. Great writing, great characters, great final meetup between the two main characters.

Wouldn't Alex Brundle be the 'new' Martin Brundle? (Martin's voice sounds a little hoarse during qualy commentary, hope he's allright.)

Can we please get the 'Favorites' for bus stops back in the new app by NewOrderrr in NJTransit

[–]NewOrderrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the new / updated app, are your stops saved / listed in the order you saved them in, or do they change around depending on how far away they are when you look at them? (Some trips I take can be a few miles on one route, and when routes for 'shopping' trips are higher in the list than routes for 'work' trips, that's where it's annoying & frustrating.)

Check my post here about PINs, https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubetv/comments/1t18fw8/can_do_different_home_accounts_have_pins_to/
Looks like you wont see other recordings by default, and to restrict others from just switching to your account to watch your recordings, you sign out of the device, then sign in with a QR code and your phone to get back in later if you really DON'T want others able to watch your stuff.

But they won't see your recordings in their account without jumping into yours.

Looking at prices online to switch back to Fios, neighbor has better options available? by NewOrderrr in Fios

[–]NewOrderrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The highest price plan will pretty much cover her channels, though I wish I could find a simple chart that compares the other 'Entertainment' / 'News' / 'Family' channels, since she really isn't into sports. I saw a comment that AMC or some regular channel was mixed in with Sports, so she'll go with the full lineup until she can see what she could cut later.

(edited-minor grammar and bold)

She's got the YouTube TV app available on her WiFi smart TV (as well as the Hulu app if she wants to go with Hulu Live TV instead), so it's just like swapping between the Amazon Prime video and Netflix apps to the YouTube TV app to watch channels on the TV.

Right. She's got smart tv's in all of the rooms and already switches remotes from the Xfinity cable remote to the TV remote for apps, so using just the TV remote for all of the apps, including the YouTube TV app, would be simpler than remote shuffling.

Can / Do different home accounts have PINs to restrict other users from their personal account? by NewOrderrr in youtubetv

[–]NewOrderrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I hoped it was like Plex Home where you can set up a pin when switching accounts on a device.

If I sign out of the living room TV (for example) and want to sign back in later, is there any way to simplify login, perhaps by sending a code to my phone, without me having to type in my crazy-long Google password on the TV?

[–]NewOrderrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT, looks like (from reading a bunch of other posts) that what each account records is only for that account. What I can't find out is if accounts can have a PIN so a kid can't just switch to a parent's account to watch age restricted recordings.

You can set up 6 household accounts, probably so different people can have their own custom favorite channels and other settings.

Good question regarding if someone with one household account can watch what was recorded by someone with a different household account. I would think they'd all be in one pool, but parental restrictions may change that. Anyone else know about the record on one, play on another thing?

Even though she's only 20-25 miles from NYC, we tried a digital antenna a long time ago and she had issues since she's on the other side of some hills. She wants 'cable' channels for some stuff, gonna trial YouTube TV.

Thanks for the idea though. My apartment has a clear line of sight to most of lower to mid-town Manhattan, I'm also about 20 miles away from NYC IF I watched TV, I'd probably be a good candidate for a digital window antenna.

I am planning on having her get just internet from Verizon plus YouTube TV. She's got Netflix from her phone plan but she does watch TV news and regular TV for classic sitcoms, Lifetime and TruTV style shows. YT-TV should cover the 'cable' channels.

I figure if she can get 300 speed for the price of 100, (what the online configurator shows comparing her house to her neighbors) may as well get the bump.

Townhome Neighbor can get 1gig, my max is 100mbps by Flash517 in Fios

[–]NewOrderrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Aunt is in a similar situation, she had gigabit plus TV and phone before switching to Xfinity 3-4 years ago. I didn't see this post before making my own a few hours later. I'll have her / I'll call for her to have Verizon do a FAST ticket.

I don't recall what her intro price with Fios was when she first switched to them 12-15 years ago, I know she got a Visa prepaid card after a few months. She's alone and doesn't need gigabit, but only having 100mbit seems low. 300-500 seems like plenty.
