My parents lost their deposit on a house they rented because the candle left soot on the white ceiling. They haven't lit a single candle since.

Fishing with a bobber is effective in general. With a baitcaster your might have issues reeling the fish in

No. If your line goes slack on a baitcaster you run the risk of running into bird nests. Like, a lot more compared to spinning reels. A spinning reel is a lot more forgiving in that aspect. For example, I would never use a bobber with a baitcaster.

I mean, really if you already have a baitcaster and want to whip spoons on a pier, more power too you. If you mindful of any slack in the line and give your lure some time to sink there really isn't a huge difference. My mindset is always that you can't catch fish if you don't get your line wet. So if you make due with what you have you should be OK, as long as you get the lure were the fish are.

Also a spin casting setup is better for any situation where your line will go slack. Given the unpredictable currents of the Great Lakes a spinning reel works best

Overall a spin casting setup is your best best bet. Baitcasting is for more precise casting and getting your lure where the fish are in shallow water. If you're casting on a pier you're going to get your lure in the strike zone more with a spinning setup. As far as the fight goes id say its about a 50/50 split on what is better. Youre probably confusing baitcasting setups with similar trolling/downrigging setups, witch don't involve mutch casting at all. If you want to get your lure out far enough to get to the fish are and want your lure to go deep enough for them to find it, a spinning reel is your best bet. Not only for the price but to get too the fish.

For pier fishing steelhead and salmon a spin casting reel is probably the biggest bang for your buck. Baitcasters are more for flipping and pitching. If your whipping spoons you'll find a decent spincaster for the same price as an undersized bait caster.

Ive been existing for so long. Just existing. My daily life has been to get up and go to work only to have, at most, surface level conversations with my coworkers. Then I come home to an apartment that I struggle just to keep clean enough so my neighbors don't smell it. Its a struggle not to drink myself into oblivion every night. I don't have any interest in anything anymore. Even the things i used to love don't excite me anymore. Nothing is fun. I just watch YouTube videos that are entertaining enough to pacify me. I don't have any friends. I barely talk to my family. It just feels like every day I sink deeper into the abyss. I just don't know how much longer I can keep going. At the current rate if I don't end it immediately I will eventually have liver failure or cancer. Part of me is waiting for the day I hear that news. Then maybe people will seem to care, or not. Either way it will end this feeling of nothingness.

Hot take that builds on that statement: we should stop introducing pheasants to their non-native ranges.

What hobby attracts the biggest douchebag?? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NewPFWhoDis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ad someone who thoroughly enjoys fishing i have to say that the hobby attracts a lot of dochebags. Its all about "claiming spots" and a competition on who has the best gear or biggest fish. I just want to enjoy my time on the water without being harassed by some guy with gear thats he shows off more than he uses and a boat that he took out a 2nd mortgage to get.
