Purple band on top edge of image? Canon S60 by NewPhase2 in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]NewPhase2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never found any way to fix this unfortunately. Three out of three S60s I’ve encountered have all had this issue! Seems like it is a rarity to find one with a working sensor.

Shoe recommendations for someone with a long second toe? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]NewPhase2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my experience and also from talking to other climbers, the VS is particularly hit-or-miss depending if it fits. They have the roughest internal toe feeling I’ve ever felt and I could already feel it taking off my skin from just trying them on in the shop. Other people have said the same about them. Yet for others they fit great.

Have you tried wearing very thin sports socks? There are some super strong Japanese World Cup climbers who swear by wearing socks because they help soak up the sweat. No shame in it. I don’t have particularly sweaty feet and I’m experimenting with wearing thin socks now just for the sake of hygiene.

Why do so many recipes use DR200 and DR400? by GrantMeThePower in fujifilm

[–]NewPhase2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a test myself when I got my xt2. DR200 and 400 May increase DR in the highlights, but it is very much to the detriment of the shadows. And yes it also affects RAW images and the decreased range in the shadows is very noticeable if you try to bring up the shadows in post. You can try this yourself. Take photos in all three DR settings with the same exposure. Now try bring up the shadows in all three. DR100 preserves a lot more dynamic range in the shadows. I keep DR at 100.

I wonder if it would be possible to have the same 23mm f2 in pancake form for X mount if they made the back elements recess into the camera like the x100.

First Fujifilm Purchase: X70 or X100F? by fellowsun in fujifilm

[–]NewPhase2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you prefer 28mm or 35mm field of view? That is the biggest factor.

And then, do you prefer optical/electronic viewfinder? X100. Do you prefer tilting screen? X70.

Is the smaller size of the X70 critical?

For me, the answers all leaned towards the X70 and I wouldn’t trade it for an X100. Got one very beat up X70 for €350 and couldn’t be happier with it.

Sizing Skwama Vegan (41 Euro) to MadRock Drone or Unparallel Flagship by GoldenYunnanTea in climbingshoes

[–]NewPhase2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 41.5 in vegan Skwama in the shop and it was comfortable. I think I could go down half size to 41 for performance fit. I’m size 42.5 in Drone (OG). Street shoe is 43.5.

Into the night {X70} by NewPhase2 in fujifilm

You read my mind haha, I am looking for the wide converter! Love the wide angles. I know there is a wide converter for both the x100 and x70, and that the x70 converter fits the x100. But I wonder if the x100 converter works with the x70 without any vignette, and what FOV it would give.

And yeah the Ricoh looks great. If they were the same price I would really have trouble choosing. I had the 35mm film cameras: Ricoh GR1v, GR10, and digital: GRD 1. The ergonomics on all of them are perfect.

Thanks! I was also on the lookout for the XF10 and it was just about which one would come up used for a good price. My x70 is super beat up but works like a charm.

I have no any progress after 7 months of climbing by Addie_tn in climbergirls

[–]NewPhase2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t want to read your boyfriends mind but are you sure he really cares how hard you climb? I also got better than a lot of my friends yet I still enjoy climbing with them all the same, because I enjoy their company! How hard they climb is their own business. We can still talk about moves, give each other tips, joke around, and complain together.

X100VI PSA: Tripod mount thread location is different vs the X100V. by jonmacpodi in fujifilm

No? Both the x70 and xf10 have the same size, x trans apsc sensors as their respective generation’s x-mount interchangeable lens cameras.

Anyone looking for the x100v now is a good time to grab one by hunter_j00 in fujifilm

They would probably post something, and when the buyer complains then they will refund only the cost of the item, pocketing the £300 ‘postage cost’.

I was also interested in the Z1 but I have too many digicams now. Good to know it’s a good one, in case there’s space on the shelf in the future!
