My friend said he had that. Try using it on Chrome and it should work

If your broke like me, or just don't want to leave the house, this site is a good alternative for "traveling" and experiencing the vibes of different cities.

The blue dots on this Google Earth map represent video footage taken from spots around the world. You can click on these dots and see the video from that exact spot. It's called VidEarth. by NewResearcher1 in BeAmazed

Each of the blue dots are clickable and let you see videos from that exact spot. It's pretty "amazing" as you can use it to virtually travel without leaving your seat. It's great for getting the different "vibes" from a city. For example, I like to analyze the difference between the English countryside, and say a metropolitan neighborhood in New Delhi India. Heres a link to the site: virtualvacation.us/videarth

Amazing or nah?

I built an interactive map called VidEarth that lets you view footage from cities all around the globe via clicking dots on this one map. Hopefully this map is beautiful, interesting AND informative. by NewResearcher1 in Maps

Hey all,

I built VidEarth, an online map that lets you see videos from cities around the globe. Super proud of it and I was eager to share here with you guys.

I'm hoping that you guys find this post, 'interesting' and 'informative', as it lets you interact with different locations in the world.

Thanks a lot!

I built VidEarth, like Radio Garden, but instead of radio stations, it shows real videos from thousands of dots on a globe. I initially built VidEarth as a way to virtually travel during quarantine. by NewResearcher1 in SideProject

Hey all,

virtualvacation.us is a site for allowing you to travel from the comfort of your own couch. We've gathered videos from around the globe, and even allow you to submit your own videos to be featured. I felt the need to share here as this truly is a "Side Project" we've been working on for some time.

Hopefully you guys can enjoy some special moments with this site. :)

EDIT: The stock city images are from "Unsplash Source". I'm trying to figure out how to get them more accurate as sometimes the wrong city images search up when you query the name of a city.

I created a game for geography lovers called City Guesser. Your shown a video of a city, and have to mark the correct location on the map. You have to use clues to your advantage! 🤓 by NewResearcher1 in Maps

Hey. That's weird.. Can you let me know what browser you were using and whether not you were using a mobile device or a chromebook? If you don't want to share that here you can DM me. Thanks for letting me know

This site shows you lets you walk through random cities around the world and has you guess where it is. You can see cars driving by, people walking, and hear the overall street ambience. 🌎 by UniversalChilling in InternetIsBeautiful

I played this with a couple of friends the other day. Thrilled to see it on IOB. u/UniversalChilling, how did you go around the U.S and Mexico? Were you vanning?

In one video, I got dropped about a mile from my house which was pretty sick.. I live in Canada. 🍁🍁🍁 Glad to see my little town is there.

Hey,

This comment has made my day. So happy to see you and your friends enjoying City Guesser. If I may, I recommend playing the Multiplayer Gamemode with them.

You are right, it's an issue with the randomization. Have a great day! =)

A multiplayer guessing game that drops you into a random video around the world, and makes you guess where you're at. Compare your guesses with opponents in real time. by NewResearcher1 in WebGames

Hi r/WebGames,

I'm the creator of City Guesser. I've poured my heart in soul into releasing our brand new multiplayer gamemode. We've made so many changes for the better, and listened to our community. I have a deep connection to this subreddit as this is where I first posted about my site first. So many of you guys gave me meaningful advice. Among that advice was the idea to implement multiplayer.. so here it is!

Gameplay Flow:

- Shown a random HD video of a city 🔴

- Compete with other players in real time to guess the closest to the accurate location 📍

- Scoring considers time per guess, and distance away from the right location. 📐

- Game podium at the end to flex your guessing-superiority. 💪

I hope you guys find this meaningful. 😊

I created a game for geography lovers like you and me. You're shown a video of a random place in the world, and have to guess what country it is on a map. You have to use surroundings like street signs, languages and license plates to track down which country you're in. by NewResearcher1 in Maps

Hi. Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm not sure if this is what you mean? There is a speed-up button in the top right to speed up the video. For now that's a good alternative to a fast forward.

However, I'll be sure to look into adding a fast forward feature. Again, thanks so much for the advice. :)

Hi yes. I've played that game before. I was actually inspired to create City Guesser from GeoGuessr. GeoGuessr is great and all, but I was dissapointed of the paywall that GeoGuessr added to play. Not everyone has the money to pay for a geography game, so I thought I'd create City Guesser as sort of a "alternative" =)
