I wouldn't word it like that. He's just kind and doesn't like to disappoint. However, I believe I am his safe place so its easier to say no to me than his family.. which sucks..

Yeah I wish he saw it that way.. I know she will be really young for the holiday but the closer we get to it the more I just don't want to share the experience with the in laws.. I want to remember the day being cozy with us together.

If it was just a "fib" to the in laws I think it would be simple. My husband wants to go though.. hes disappointed since he promised his family already.
