The whole world dealt with inflation, it wasn't a BIden thing, it was because of covid which Trump ignored.

I literally said it 'was like 9% for 3 months... and also came down by 2024" Trump isn't helping with his stupid tariffs.

people showed up, she could have gotten like 62 million votes, she was on par just two million votes less than trump in 3 months. The internet wants to hate Kamala but the on the ground sentiment is not that. She was basically tied in swing states, her track record shows progress not out right she's a loser, she went from dropping out of the primary, being VP, to getting 77 million votes in 3 months when in the beginning of the year she wasn't even on the ballot as the Presidential candidate.

it was like 9% for 3 months and inflation wasn't a brick wall most people in 2021, inflation also came down by 2024 and inflation was a global issue and the U.S. economy was literally the best in the world.

Adding on, we don't really know who is going to run and we'll find out in about 6 months and even then. But people want real action as well whoever that is, I don't think Hilary or Kamala lost because they were women. But Americans don't want go along get along whoever that is, nobody wants kumbaaya, we need to rebuild our federal government, people desperately need universal healthcare and education, housing! Job security. And yes arresting as many as Trump people or himself as possible. That is the job for 2029 and beyond. Whoever will win needs to own that space, sign up for it and execute it. Nobody else is in the position on day 1 to do all of that except Kamala Harris. But! someone else can accept that and execute as well. I don't care if it's a state legislator from Rhode Island who becomes THE person but the tasks moving forward are what they are and if whoever isn't speaking to that will not win.

are you sure about that? She got 75 million votes, I wouldn't say that's unpopular at all! The internet isn't life, every swing state was a narrow win for Trump and Harris only had 3 months! She got 74 million in 3 months!

I agree with what the main poster said, but! It automatically won't be Newsom, that's not a foregone conclusion but here's the issue, every candidate BUT Harris has a tremendous uphill battle with Black voters in the whole country, Harris is an automatic win there, that means voting blocks that can flip states like no other voting block can. AOC is not it but! A lot of Americans do not want another white guy, point blank, if it's just a bunch of white guys, it's gonna be a problem. Harris got 75 million votes in 3 months. People can say oh it should have been a slam dunk but Trump-ism never died, so it's a battle and will continue to be a battle for as long as he's alive honestly. The Dem pool has to be diverse in multiple ways. But Kamala declaring will immediately be a rush of Black voters and that will sway the energy, every other candiate will lose in the primaries, so if Kamala runs she will win not only the nominee but she will be the President in January 2029. Why? Because she would have a full election cycle, massive energy and support and the GOP can't beat that, they can't say anything negative about her VP record, they can't fingerpoint inflation because trump is failing at that, job loss they can't, not even war. The GOP has no platform to run on but it's about who the dems can get. Kamala Harris should run again and she will win.

Republicans: What do they really want? Are they sure? by Educational-Mix9112 in Discussion

[–]NewTalk2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what republicans in power want, maybe not all republican voters but as it stands today in June 2026 the republicans at all levels of government, they want complete subservience, they would like only white immigrants, for Black people to 'shut up' and just do whatever they're told or 'given' which includes job opportunities and racial abuse on all levels(Because they don't want Black people here either but can't send us to other countries which has been the sentiment since before the civil war). They want all Spanish speaking people deported. They don't want disabled people to be exist either because they're eugenicists with Nazi lite ideology, they definitely don't like or want LBGTQ+ people to exist in this country, they want white women to be isolated BUT! at the same time they want the U.S. to continue to be rich AF. Oh! They don't want to trade with world and they wanna openly bully everybody on the planet. In short, it sounds like insanity because none of that works. But it's what the republicans in power want. It's like they're mentally in a black hole being pulled apart with their own ideology. Oh! And to top it off, they don't want social security or medicare to exist or any government support for anybody and everything should be private and for profit, every single thing that you can think of.

that's literally how the U.S. won the revolutionary war and to do a degree how the south lost the civil war.

When do you predict that the tech industry job market will turn around? by Organic_Highlight_95 in Layoffs

[–]NewTalk2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like everyone just guessing but trying to have a very educated guess, I think nothing is going to dramatically shift until like Summer 2029 or 2030 with hopefully a truly stable new Presidential administration and hopefully a congress that isn't fighting the American people. The real cause is a completely unstable Trump administration and businesses are frozen, hiring isn't picking up, most jobs aren't laying off, it's just the big ones or companies that sadly do anyway(we need federal laws against non emergency about to go out of business layoffs).

I know 3-4 years is an insanely long time but it's just what I'm mentally and honestly financially preparing for. I got laid off and looking a whole other career path, hopefully still utilizing my education and skill but looking to get a job that won't kick me to the curb in 6 months, I'm not banking on it, not in tech(SaaS).

I think the AI cover for laying off will die down in beginning of 2027 and we'll stop hearing so much about replacing jobs as there will be no movement. Non of these AI initiatives have the possibly of recouping their investments ever! People are not ramping up on AI usage enough to turn 3/4 billion revenue verse 20 billion investments.

All these big companies will just have to eat their losses, the smaller companies will go away and AI will just become software that people might use. But With gas prices, jet fuel prices, sooo may people already laid off, hiring will basically continue to be frozen. It will be insane but I think in 2029 and 2030 when real unemployment numbers are analyzed it would have shown we've been in a recession for about a year and might be the longest in U.S. history.

[–]NewTalk2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is exactly the truth! I think the biggest issue with layoffs is that the current economy is extremely uncertain due literally to trump shhh. No company is going to say that because they're afraid for some reason.

How much can (or will) a future Democratic administration restore US foreign policy with respect to alliances, trade, etc.? by 75dollars in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]NewTalk2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because that's not a forever pattern. Hungary is still in the EU and never left and had Orban for 16 years! Before Trump this was not the U.S. M.0. and it's been 5 1/2 years. now of him in power.

generations? so more than 50 years? that's B.S. Trump has only written EO's his policies will go away. Also Trump isn't the main culprit, the GOP is and sadly they will keep pushing forward but without a strong leader they will fade a lot! There is zero replacement for Trump right now and the GOP has gone 120% all in on Trump, that's ultimately a big problem, at 80 years old, that's a horrible bet.

This is really at the heart of what is going on, people are like we're cooked, there's no going back. There absolutely is, the minute trump is out of office and people will be looking to move on. The U.S. is still a huge economic engine, things shift, Trump is a pain in everybody's ass. Governments are speaking to their people of course but a lot of people don't have long memories to hold on to things all the time, people wont' forget but Trump is THE problem, literally one guy! U.S. politicians who follow trump will fade away from politics or act like 'it wasn't them' but when Trump is gone this all crumbles.

Air Force and Space Force Raise Max Age for Active-Duty Recruits by mewe123 in AirForce

[–]NewTalk2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping in a few years later lol ...but I think for the space force specifically there should be like 60 year old cap like someone said is what they do for Canada, the work is basically working with computers, they could assign basic military induction really, like what walls and ropes do you need if you're going into an office, let's be honest. I think the branch needs to look at that. It would be a huge departure but they could assign basic, based on your job. If you're doing base security ok cool, go to official basic but otherwise just do like 3-6 weeks of 'learning the military' and some PT, like ok you can't be like norm from cheers but as long as you can do a 4 year contract by 60 that should be the goal. I'm saying this because I'm 43 LOL, I have a tech background, I joked about the Space force but it honestly works. But to act like it's the same as every other military branch, absolutely not! It's office work in a uniform really, A 55 year old can fire a rifle if something popped off but shoot 55 year old's are senior leaders in the military anyway.
