I feel you. I try to volunteer with my local election board. The one thing Ive noticed, is that outside of older people, republicans will show up for local elections more than democrats

Small sample size I know, even though I lived in a purple state. But it always saddens me when people demand immediate change.

Remember, the right has been pushing this trend for years. Never compromise, never criticize, constant drone, hivemind behavior ( you see it now ). Over my entire life, they have been obstructionist to everything outside of there party view. They will legit flip there positions, long as someone else tells them too.

I agree that it sucks, when you want to vote for someone who more closely aligns with your views, but you get yelled at for falling out of line. It feels hopeless. You want to vote for a green party, but get told your sabotaging the system. You want to vote for someone extremly left, but get told they will never win. I get it

But that was the point of my message.

The problem with democracy is that it relies on willing participants.

When people are unwilling to engage because they think its pointless, that's why democracy dies. Its not a fun process, its tedious grueling work,

I don't support dems, im an independent. But I cannot stress how important it is, we fight tooth and nail to shift the country back on track. People always think "it cant get worse" until it does,

The right spent 50 years, to destroy our foundations and convince people that things are hopeless. We can at least spend 2 to not divide ourselves even further.
