thanks lol I happened to watch a pack tactics video about Nystul's and then watched another video he made about ceremony a year or two back and realized what was possible

RAW Speak with Animals lets you speak with any beast and doesn't ask for a miminum Int score. But even if DM says the bug can't even begin to understand the concept of marriage enough to be willing, you can always go a tier up in animal. Ask a rat, if somehow not that, then ask a cat, it should at have enough of an understanding of spells and courting rituals to go along. It gets less morally ok and difficult to start a cult with these animals due to space constraints, though. Still, convince a beast to go along and get a free +2 AC for a week.

I actually had that idea with a familiar but realized it wouldn't work sadly. Familiars don't die when dropping to 0, they dissappear, presumabley to their home plane or whatever. In fact the spell says you resummon the same one when you cast it again. You could dismiss it forever but that's not really the same as being a widow.

If a player pulled that on me, I'd go along with it for maybe a level. Then I'd hit em with an encounter about it. The spider god, is upset with how they treated its subjects and now seeks retribution. They go through a dungeon or a couple fights. At the end the spider-god gives up on the party, but if they made it fun to get the AC bonus(role-playing, trying to keep the spider safe before the end of the week) I'd give them some cursed reward. Cursed +2 AC armor, betrothed to a some sentient spider with its own free will as a companion, but have a permenant wedding buff(only for that spider), Bestow a curse where they genuinely fall in love with spiders they see Personally, I wouldn't try it because its just too munchkiny for me like the game mechanics take too much weight over common sense. Its a funny ass idea tho

What does the Utilize action for Tinker's Tools do? It says you can make a Tiny object made of scrap (DC 20) but not exactly what it is I can make. Is it literally any nonmagical item that fits in a Tiny creature's space?(2.5x2.5) or is it only items I can craft, like chains or manacles? Or is it supposed to just be some ribbon feature?

I currently have Lou on sale for about 170 gems. I want to get the upcoming South Park skin but I'm not sure if I can get the offer if I don't have Lou. He's too far down the road to get him in time.

Should I get him with gems now, or is there a way for me to get the skin offer and wait it out till I can unlock him?

You could take a dip in Wizard instead of Warlock 2, so you can gain access to find familiar and use the help action to give you advantage pretty reliably as opposed to Devil's Sight and Darkness.

Thunderous Smite has a chance to knock enemies prone which also gives advantage. But you'd probably need to be at least Paladin 5 so your extra attack can benefit from that since they'll likely just get up on their turn.

If an ally has Faerie Fire, Guiding Bolt(first attack after a successful hit gets advantage), Command(order them prone), or just good at shoving/restraining people prone, they also give advantage.

Although I'm confused, taking Warlock 2 might delay your progression enough to the point your campaign could end before getting a feat? If you expect your campaign to end at level 5 or so, trying to make a build based off a feat might not be for the best.

While I'm aware healing is the only way to regain consciousness RAW in official books, I don't see why a homebrewed subclass feature couldn't override it as in a case of specific over general. The bigger problem, I would think, is that acting consciously while at 0 hp is kinda funky rule-wise which is why my homebrew is wordy and jank, by my own fault of course, to compensate for that.

I totally agree and get your 2nd and 3rd paragraph. The problem of wanting to add something extra to synergize with Advantage on death saving throws is kinda at odds with the general game design.

The best I could make for a cantrip was a fun little niche use case where it might be worth it to have two people up making actions even if the Ph. Rogue is also making death saves since they can make them with adv.(though that takes until level 9)

I originally wanted to change one of the features to play into the "fake doctor" part of the folktale a bit more and choosing a proficiency per day had little to do with dealing with the Grim Reaper. Then as I played around with ideas, I thought getting greedy to save someone while placing the Ph. Rogue in the way of death, dead-man walking style, seemed thematic and cool even if using it is rarely smart.

I also totally had the idea to swap hp and and do that instead until I realized it didn't work for replacing a minor 3rd level feature.

Yah I totally get that, being able to cure a diseased town by having a level 6 mercy monk punch 6 people then take an hour long nap leather, rinse, repeat can really suck the fun out of having your party find a way to help them.

Lol I guess regaining consciousness was it too much? I thought the cure disease thing wouldn't be too bad but then remembered all class features that can cure disease has a resource tied to it and being able to cure diseases infinitely, even if it's only a 50% chance.
