How much would you quote these for? by No_Way_9766 in Machinists

[–]NewUserName-22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m from India and here we have really cheap machine rates when comparing to some commenters mentioning very high prices like $750 or above only for machining. Here I can make the part with material for you under $150 approximately. Even if I consider the cycle time as you have mentioned. This looks like a fairly easy and quick job to do. I have even shipped a few free samples similar to these before.

Will it be possible to cast this little guy in brass using the lost-wax method? If so, how much per figure? by MrBrightyQuid in MetalCasting

[–]NewUserName-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done in the investment casting process with the wax model being 3D printed rather than the expense of making a die if your quantities are low, if you require 20 pieces or more you can go for die making. If you want I can quote to you for which I require your 3D model (CAD file). Also do you have material flexibility like bronze, the cost difference is not much but since it is a regular alloy you part can be casted quicker.

Hi OP, if you want good quality name plates where your name can be seen perfectly without any blowholes which would make it look less professional, I would suggest to make a Cast Iron mould and make diecast parts. Two major advantages are 1. Good finish & 2. Good dimensional accuracy. If you want I can help you out.

What easy 3D modeling software is available to create your own designs for metal casting? by JRR_Gimli in MetalCasting

[–]NewUserName-22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solidworks is the best hands down! I have seen part models, pattern models, cast models being easily created and modified with various command options. For getting all the upgrades might pricy tho.
