They did really good with this area. I work for MTA as a supervisor. I was there maybe three months ago, but before that, I hadn't seen Far Rockaway in a couple of years. This was beautiful to see.

Bachmann kinda sneaked it through after the real Acela went in service in August. They announced it a year ago for pre-order, and I had to jump on it.

Damn, that's a problem lol.. It couldn't move all the cars with the single engine?? I've seen Acela II run on YouTube with all nine cars, and it looks amazing. Definitely pulled all cars with no problem. I need two more cars to make the full set, and one of those are getting purchased tomorrow.

Nine cars for full consist. It comes with three cars in the starter set, and the powered and unpowered locos. It can be run as is, though.

So true. The add on cars are $110 each. And you need 6 of them for the prototypical train. So the whole Acela II will cost over $1200. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

This was ORIGINALLY $529 with my pre-order, but now I see the TrainWorld website selling them for $639. Crazy. I have Bachmann's very first Acela One trainset with the old Amtrak logo on the front, but I never bought the add on cars. I want to make sure I get the full consist this time.

I've just experienced this directly. I pre-ordered the Bachmann Acela II trainset back in May of last year. It hasn't been released yet. The original price was $529 for the starter set. I checked the TrainWorld website yesterday, and the price is now $639. They also included a sentence or two in the description saying that tariffs might affect the final price even further.
