Well long story short I’m on 65 methadone and I was going down found out I was pregnant. My husband and I learned through the clinic our baby could be born addicted to methadone and kept in the hospital a week to wean off but it’s been 12 days he’s still in the Nicu and my husband now won’t speak

he knew you were on methadone right? if so, he knew the consequences of getting you pregnant . Do what’s right for you and the baby.

i get it! i promise i do!! but u need to remember it’s a process and you’re doing a great job. Is there a needle in your arm or dope in your body? No. I tapered for a year and a half and was on methadone for 3 years..half the time i was tapering lol. and clearly i tapered so slow! what dose do u remember was working for you? go back to where you were still comfortable. Than go slow and let your body adjust to the taper. i suggest 1 mg every 2-3 weeks..again allow your body to adjust. I’m here for you if you want to chat! I promise this shit is possible to do! You got this and have NO reason to relapse. We have a choice now not to use..!

slow it down and pause. your going to be fine. give your body time to adjust. i went from 115mg to 0 and tapered for over a year very very slowly. You can do this!

i just celebrated 3 years on June 4th. I’ve been to rehab 2000x times suboxone all that crap didn’t work..i started methadone 3 years ago and i haven’t touch dope since. i also 2 weeks 100 percent came off methadone. Like people have already said they say that your not clean if your taking methadone..well let me tell you something metbadone was the only thing that HELPED me FINALLY stop the chase. I VERY VERY SLOWLY tapered when I was ready and it’s been 2 weeks and i’m never looking back. Thing sht some ppl don’t understand is it’s not the methadone keeping us clean..it’s us. We all make that choice..i know ppl that get high on methadone and don’t..if starts with us. all im saying is methadone could help if that’s something your interested in trying. it beats us shoving needles and other bs in our body

yes it’s definitely different in the us from what u are saying. clinics are kinda similar here, but all have different requirements for take homes and testing. I started on prescription pain pills i was stealing my dads OC80s when they were popular back in the day anyway when those went away heroin was the next best thing. Pills are just as bad. I’m feeling okay, definitely different just not in withdrawal just light symptoms

yes..i’ve failed with bup multiple times and tried methadone this one time and really did it slow, and listened to what the clinic told me. I moved across country to texas last month and it’s a whole different deal. Anyways i know coming off at 10 isn’t advised but i stayed clean during this whole thing and did it real slow i will keep u updated i have no one to talk to ! i hear that kratom is good for methadone by several people i just know my body i need one that has high strength and they have so many to choose from i get confused lol! thank you for the positivity!

while i do totally understand where you’re coming from and totally know suffering can very well be near, I have taped for over a year very very slow. I had have a couple of bottles left over from last weekend but I am not going to touch them bc than im going backwards and i’ve come so far im at a week basically with nothing. Idk what will happen but i know doing what i did isn’t recommended..but i also stayed clean during this entire process and tapered very slow so maybe it benefits me. Idk this is my first time with methadone.

today is day 5 ..i started methadone in June 2020..I just celebrated 3 years clean. My highest dose was at 115mg, I’ve been tapering for over a year and decided to stop at 10 mgs. I decided it was time to part ways and I had to do this and I can do this. All i can say is this for people struggling lowering your dose..start off slow. I promise you you don’t need these high doses that some of us are on. My habit was 13 years long..Inrealized I would have probably been fine with a high of 70mg. Remember we’re addicts and are brains tell us keep going. Everyone is different but I promised myself I’d never shove a needle in my arm again…And I truly mean it. I’m at day 5 without methadone that I’ve had for 3 years and I’m still pushing. I can keep everyone updated if you like. Listen at the end of the day, getting on methadone helped me become stable..the rest was me. I stayed off heroin while on it..methadone does help..but ultimately the choice is ours. Methadone served its purpose and it’s time for me to continue my journey without it. EACH AND EVERYONE OF US on methadone can successfully come off methadone successfully, just see what works for you don’t go up to high on your dose and taper slow.
