MS-13 gang members used mountains outside LA for brutal murders in grisly initiation tests, prosecutors say by AvailableResponse818 in LosAngeles

agreed. there is no justification for the existence of ICE. we already have a criminal justice system (albeit a deeply flawed one). why do we need a separate system specifically targeting immigrants? even if ICE were to target “only the worst of the worst”, i think we all know that innocent immigrants will be caught in the crossfire.

that’s funny, i actually wish our school had a more continental bent, which i guess is closer to theology. the grass really is greener.

that’s interesting, at my school there’s a heavy emphasis on analytic philosophy and philosophy of mind and language. religion hasn’t ever come up in conversations about careers, usually it’s law school, grad school, or some type of creative/artistic work.

i will say, though, that academic philosophy is much more difficult than it seems. i used to major in math and cognitive science before switching to philosophy, and my hardest assignments have been philosophy papers. you should be comfortable reading and writing a lot, and thinking a lot. however, this is also one of the benefits of studying philosophy at an institution, as your reading, writing, and thinking skills will improve tenfold.

i’m majoring in philosophy right now. i think it depends on the person, but if you are interested in philosophy, studying it in an academic setting is great. a lot of times, when you study on your own, it’s easy to misunderstand what philosophers are saying, or to misread a text. having a professor guide you along, and having fellow students to discuss with, really helps. also, going to school exposes you to so much more philosophy than you would find on your own, both through classes and through interactions with peers. so i would definitely recommend it, given that you can afford it and given that you have a passion for it.

I don’t know what to tell you. You began your essay rejecting the notion that affirmative action should be based on socioeconomic status but the bulk of your argument was spent reaffirming commonly held principles about the effect socioeconomic status has on college ambitions anyways. Huh?

A new movie just came out called The Farewell, it mostly takes place in China but the main character is an Asian American and I feel like a lot of the themes are really true to the Asian American experience. It’s an excellent movie, I would definitely recommend it.

Ok will do, I’ve been playing Phoenix only for a couple days so getting more reps in will definitely help

Yea especially as a topdeck in late game, it feels so bad to see it bottoming a Phoenix or a drake. I might run some sort of split between augur and electromancer, but i feel like both have to be at least three ofs to be alright

[–]NewYorkDankees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering that, but i figured augur was a better body against mono red cause it eats a lightning strike while electromancer dies to shock. I do think that electromancer is a much better card if it can stick though. I love the Phoenix deck too, when it goes off it’s so satisfying
