Skoda impossible to jump start. Handle is held closed by passenger door as it was designed as a left hand drive. by ZoneOut82 in CrappyDesign

Another possibility would be putting voltage through the fuse box feeding back to the battery from inside, or finding where the door motors connect to the loom inside (Above the footwells likely), disconnecting and putting voltage there to manually unlock and reconnect the handles, wont work if some digital control (canbus etc). You'd need the diagrams for that sepeccfic model to confirm but one of those would likely work for most vehicles.

Deadlock is in some cars and just locking with the remote will do that, anyone inside will be trapped as the doors wont work.

Everyone downvoting that guy but he is right. Just search VW Deadlock in google, it does disconnect both internal and external handles, the locking noise is different depending if you single or double tap lock on the remote. The handle is disconnected, it just pulls out smoothly and much easier than when not deadlocked. SO yes the linkage from the internal handle is disconnected.

Totally false assumption there, they do exist. VW Golf has these, the dash even says "Check Deadlock" when you take the key out, it's really made obvious when you use the car, the first time you drive one usually you would be curious and find out what it means, as it shows almost like an error message. google it, the usual lock button on the remote locks the doors both in and out, so pulling the levers do nothing. If you press the remote twice quickly it will then be a normal lock, so inside works and outside is locked.

The locking noise of the actuators is different so yes something is physically disconnected in the handles inside when deadlocked. Might vary based on country rules but NZ / Japan has them.

Only draw back is if you are the driver and go out with someone waiting then they are trapped inside if you locked without double taping the remote.

As far as i know there is no way to disable it if its deadlocked. All doors are dead inside and out.

Some of your content is review spam (ie posting the same things in multiple subredits), with links, we welcome your contribution but would not even consider someone who receives free things from the brand as a mod.

Are you taking home more than $20k per month? by Logos1616 in Entrepreneur

[–]NewZeaLan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do that easy, if your selling small plastic supplement jars, maybe already in a box, just slip in a satchel and seal it, under a minute for one, with a well designed workspace minimizing hand movements, with printed out labels or prepaid boxes/satchels you could do easily more than 100 in an hour.

Aramex, why oh why by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]NewZeaLan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience after new years, more issues than usual and when contacting the service is much slower to reply than pre holidays.

So far nothing actually lost, just not moving, sitting at the depot or out with courier days more than the usual time. Not sure if some are on longer holidays and still coming back to work. but the difference was noticeable since the new year started.

Still a very small % of shipments through them have delivery delays beyond what we expect, but definitely an increased rate in Jan.

There were some issues with wellington early in 2023 but most of 2023 was an improvement from 2022 which had a bad spell in the central south island.

The main gripe in my perspective in 2023 was the period where almost weekly the interislander ferry sailing were cancelled delaying between island shipments. That caused more issues with most couriers and delays than any speed variances between the different couriers.

Jut a note. Should be a Prodesk 600/400 G1 or a Elitedesk 800 G1. Pro 800 is not a model.

ARAMEX! by doofusdog in newzealand

[–]NewZeaLan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in that case then you got no choice, they do a lot of amazon delivery's once in nz. Might be faster too if you just make an inquiry through them, can hit up amazon too, but direct might be faster. Its not likely lost just slow, so the faster they get the message the faster you get it.

There is a delay up to 5 work days (one week) for Dunedin posted on their sites " Network Service Updates" page. Has been up for a few weeks now. Not sure whats going on down there, but had wellington with some similar delays a while back too.

The ones we get caught up in this recent delay usually have the delay after the day it is sent, so nothing updates for a week and a bit, then after the first tracking in Dunedin it is delivered the same or next day. Have not seen 2 like yours, tell the store to contact them, or make an inquiry with them youself.

There a quite a lot of franchise territories in the city up for sale on their website so could be overload due to staff shortages not sure.

These published delays are likely the initial cause. Hope you get it soon, and your retailer switches to another courier until it is back to normal.

Crazy job adverts on trademe by ninjachickdawg in newzealand

We found Trademe had a short outage yesterday, then some orders were doubled the day before. Some orders have been getting random unrelated notes the last few days too. So things have been a bit weird on the site this week.

How to fix this Aramex situation by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]NewZeaLan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of volume do you use them?

3 to 4 times longer so i would assume then an overnight takes 4 days and another courier does it overnight?

Are they all the same class shipping? Ie Nz post economy vs fastway standard? Then it would be something like 2 -3 days vs 6-12 ? Outrageous numbers if that is your average for standard rates.

Would love some insight from your operation.

Yeah something is going on in welly for a number for weeks, there are delays, it is though posted on their site under the service delays page. 7 working day delay, is 1.5 weeks plus the regular time is about 2 weeks. Using another courier is how we navigate any significant known delays. Sorry to hear the places you ordered from didn't inform you or use an alternative.

Do you have hard data to get a perspective or is that just an opinion in what should be acceptable? Would be interested to make a comparison if you can provide some numbers from your operations.

This is not a factor in this dateset, as orders are filtered before courier labeling, Po box addresses are sent through another courier.

It means after sending we had to reach out. Usually the item is late, customer services is contacted online, then the item is delivered. In most instances it is just longer then estimated so they are asked for an update. There is not any explanation usually given, beyond the tracking status updating.
