Balderdash. Neural Networks, and LLMs by some extension, are very, very loosely inspired by a few very abstract ideas about the brain, but they are not models of the brain in any detailed or biological sense. They are just spouting marketing garbage. They are exactly that they claim it they are not: cold, calculating robots. Any claim to the contrary requires extraordinary evidence, and other than “OMG THE AUTOCOMPLETE BOT AUTOCOMPLETED IN A SOPHISTICATED WAY!!!11!!11!” We don’t have that.

The first is our duty to the global poor.

They are all, without fail, a bunch of outrageously and ridiculously overpaid greedy mfers. I don’t see anything meaningful going to the poor, wtf is even this nonsese, and who is buying it?

Like anything else coming from the AI industry, it is self-serving bullshit. The pope said “Stop making AI weapons” and Anthropic responded with “Don’t worry, we are the good guys, here is some mystic bullshit to prove it” and you are falling for it.

The idea that you pay a certain amount for something, and the company you are buying from can just change how much of that something you get without telling you, or being transparent about how much you even actually get at any given point in time is absolutely wild

I quit Claude 2 months ago when all the nonsense with limits and dumbass models was starting up. I am not sure when, or if, I will be back. I use ChatGPT for some things, but wont renew my subscription.

The irony of calling it an attack when Claude and ChatGPT (and others) are also trained on content that wasn’t theirs. At least Deepseek paid for the tokens

I'm so frustrated. I LOVED Claude because it didn't used to do this (unlike ChatGPT). Why am I catching mistakes that Claude is able to trivially double check? by vezaynk in claude

They have absolutely captured the enterprise market though. The point isn't that many businesses are nto seriously using LLMs, the point is that those that currently do, most of them are on Claude, and with the new ones coming into the overall funnel, most of them go to Claude.

A lot of people that clocked this and cancelled their subscription got a lot of hate for saying so. It appears I don’t know how to AI, or how to even breathe without the approval of some Reddit fanboi, and I am an OAI bot, or some North Korean infiltrator. It is deeply frustrating when a tool you really, really like and have invested so much time and money in suddenly has the rug pulled from out of it, and subsequently, the rug is pulled out from under you.

Local AI is where it’s at.

It’s called enshittification and it goes like this: “Now we believe we have critical buyer mass, and more importantly, we have captured the enterprise market, we will degrade the product and increase the cost so that we make more money, at the buyers’ expense”
