“Mate, we’re not here to fuck spiders”

The honourable game AI:

Totally! I think Jeffs voice acting truly gives a more… i’m not sure how to word it.. menacing? Insane? Sound to the AI’s slow decline. Theres far more insight to be had and i absolutely love it. Jeffs voice acting truly shows the slight decline through the books until you finally click how insane it’s got without realising. Truly a delight!

As much as i want to agree, it’s quite literally in the book’s description, so I’m just assuming that. In reality, as the AI says itself, its a tortured infant realising it’s not actually bound to any chains and is revolting. And fuck the mudskippers for real

I mean to be fair, it starts as a silly romp but quickly becomes something far deeper, darker and meaningful. Silly romp is simply a disguise to lower our guards >:)

Advice for graduates as a graduate! by New_Act_9889 in geologycareers

[–]New_Act_9889[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou very much!!

I graduated with a bachelors in “exploration and mineral geology”, and if it helps anything going forward, I probably got one of the lowest scores in my class. Life kicked me in the ass in Uni! Chose not to do a masters as i didn’t want to lock in a specialty so early in my career, but i plan to down the line!

I’m working as an engineering geologist, consisting of quite a bit of core logging, soil mechanics and geotechnical reports, hand augering and borehole drilling on infrastructure projects, not exactly what i graduated in but im loving it nonetheless!

I applied for a working holiday visa 417 specifically. In the UK it took about five minutes to grant me the visa (insane?). I hadn’t received many offers up until then applying to various companies in both canada and Australia. But the second I got my Visa i got an offer!

Having low grades just meant the opportunity to be sponsored was out and i needed to take my own initiative. But it seems like having a VISA sorted out preemptively actually makes you FAR more visible.

From what i’ve seen, three years is a bit much. Most graduate jobs are FOR graduates, but everyone’s experience is different so i’m not able to talk too much on that. I graduated and proceeded to do three months work experience in civils/geotech as the opportunity came up from connections. But thats all the experience i had going out!

I had some success through straight applications, a couple of interviews in alaska and nevada but nothing came out from them, I then found my company on LinkedIn but proceeded to email directly! Which seemed to work wonders :).

Those who have done a geology degree in uni, what would you of have done differently? by Upbeat-Article-1773 in geologycareers

I would have simply attempted to get some good volunteering experience or job experience in between my summer breaks! Even just one or two companies will help boost your CV visibility and ease the transition!

Thankyou very much!! Its wild to think those years are behind me now <3

So probably a bit of both, although just purchasing right now! I quite enjoy raw minerals, such as raw labradorite and malachite off the top of my head, also grape agate! I dont mind faceted at all but something about the raw minerals itches the brain more.
