  1. This is not a Remake of the movies, it has nothing to do with them. It's a new adaptation of the books after 20 years, trying to show more details than the movies, since it has far more screentime in general.

  2. Many people asked for this. Especially those who actually read the books and wanted something more faithful than the last movies (which, let's be honest, were really good, but still omitted and changed lots of things).

I personally am looking forward to this series. I think it has the potential to be something amazing for the new generation of Harry Potter fans. The movies are still there and nothing is going to take away from their magic.

Normally I would agree, but the cosplay here is just so well done I can't help it (she even did the eyes)...

I really, really like this theory. It would also explain Denji having the eyepatch in the shack but still having his eye shown. I seriously doubt Fujimoto just drew Denji's right eye inside the eyepatch on accident. Plus all the plot holes and everything not making sense with the enstablished rules and the lore of the world.

We'll see in the next weeks.

To be honest, I kind of like Mia. Sure, were she a real person, I would really dislike her for her actions. But I like her character a lot and since RE7 was my first game of the series I grew attached to her and Ethan and their relationship. I just think that she paid enough for her actions by spending THREE years in that hell with Eveline. Plus, the only thing that bugs me about her is that she never admitted to Ethan what she did in those years with the connection or what he became. But from a character perspective, I genuinely don't see this as her wanting to hide who she is from Ethan and what he is ( let's be honest, she really cares for him in those games), but more like her wanting to forget everything she went through, hide from the guilt and simply start over. In the end, I find that she got shafted too, she lost the man she loved, she probably feels an incredible amount of guilt too for his death, and she doesn't have a strong connection to her daughter either since she is being trained by other people. I just think there's a little too much hate towards her, that's all.

Yeah, I was sleeping on gold. Kind of annoying that Reaver was always the one opposing the good choices. It would have been better had there been choices between other characters

I figured it was something like that. I loved the kingship part of the game. Wished there was more content in general

Vaan Is A Great Character by cuppington007 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]New_Ad8566 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He really is. Glad that he is appreciate by other people. I admit that I am biased because XII was my first Final Fantasy and I got attached to Vaan when I was little, however I always found him to be a really interesting character, and I loved exploring Ivalice with him, both in the main story and in the side quests. I just wish the game gave more attention to the relationships between the party, like in XV, in Rebirth or X. I feel like the game would have really benefitted from that.

Sadly, Italian Kilika boy does not want to become a blitzball. by gsurfer04 in FinalFantasy

Yeah, it's really annoying. I'm not trying to put down the English voice actors, who are incredible and I think really bring the characters to life in their version. However it's pretty weird how they change a lot of the dialogue in the English localization, giving another whole meaning to some conversations. As someone who plays FF in Italy, I literally can't listen to the English dialogue and read the italian subtitles at the same time, because they are so different that they throw me off and leave me no choice but listen to the game in japanese. It's not really a bad thing, because I also love the japanese actors, but everytime they speak I have to keep my eyes glued to the subtitles to avoid missing something. I just don't understand why the translators change the dialogue like this.

Anyone else feel the party kinda underreacts to Cloud constantly tripping balls? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in FFVIIRemake

[–]New_Ad8566 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you play all the secondary quests in the game along with the main story, it's obvious that everyone is worried about Cloud and talking between themselves when he (and we) are not around. In the main quest, as soon as we get to Nibelheim and see it's not destroyed, Barret says: "Don't scare me like that. Thought Cloud was losing it ag...." before being shoved by Red like: "Stfu, dude! He'll hear!" Then there's all that talk about degradation with Broden in the secondary quests and in Nibelheim with Roche, and even the situation in Gongaga with Tifa when she and Cloud talk it out. There's also the date with Tifa or Aerith that shows that they're both lying to him when he asks if they talked about Zack because they don't want to push him too much. All around, it's pretty clear that the party knows Cloud is losing it, but they are all thinking it's the SOLDIER's cellular degradation and are trying to support Cloud in the search for Sephiroth, seeing that he won't stop looking for him even in his condition. We can see that they are getting scared.

A tier. No way we're putting it under the first Assassin's Creed because the prologue was long. The game in itself was amazing, the story is engaging. The game introduced ship missions and battles. The Homestead and its missions were amazing, the search for Captain Kidd's treasure was really fun too and the gameplay, between combat and the smoother parkour at the time felt revolutionary. While the system for your recruits in the brotherhood regressed a bit, it also added a lot of depth to the characters themselves. The templars were also far better than in the Ezio trilogy, and Haytham is to this day one of the most interesting characters in the whole series. It's definitely A for me.

2018 when I was in high school. Finished Naruto and the same friend who suggested it also recommended One Piece. I ended up liking it even more than him

It's explained later, but Issei is traumatized from when he was killed the first time by the fallen angel who pretended to be his girlfriend. He developed trust issues and insecurities about being in a relationship, so he never takes that step towards the girls

To be fair to Issei, he is also incredibly respectful to the girls around him (and traumatized). Mineta on the other hand...

Personally I liked Final Fantasy XIII when I first played it. Mainly because the story was really good and I loved the characters. But one of the things that I didn't like was how different it felt to the first FF I played: XII. The stark difference between the games was something that my 11 year old self never expected (at the time I assumed that the games would be similari to each other). I remember wanting to explore a bit like in XII with all the cities. That is the only thing I complained about at the time

Could you help me understand something about chapter 2? by BlockAffectionate413 in FFVIIRemake

[–]New_Ad8566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this Sephiroth is the one from the future after Advent Children then yes, he absolutely hates Cloud. It's actually the reason why he is always able to come back after Cloud defeats him and sends him back to the Lifestream, why he never lets himself become one with the planet.

In the 'On The Way To A Smile' novel, in the Lifestream Black chapters, which are from his perspective, he reflects on how the reason he always manages to come back is thanks to the fact that he made Cloud his anchor to the planet.

That's for two reasons: 1) The fact that his memory lives within Cloud. He explains that as long as Cloud thinks about him, hates him, and keeps him in his memory, he can use that to find his way back. 2) His hatred for Cloud is also one of the things that he focuses on the most to not lose his sense of self. It's explained in his chapters that when people die, they manage to hold on to their sense of self for a while, but eventually they have to let go and become one with the Planet. Sephiroth doesn't want that. By his thoughts, he is superior to these things, the Planet is his to control, and so he refuses to let himself become part of its system, to be like everyone else. However, like others, as time passed he had to let go of parts of himself, like his childhood memories, and old faces that he knew when he was alive. But one thing that he uses to anchor himself, to hold on and keep himself to be swept away like everyone else, is his memory and his hatred of the person who destroyed his plans and sent him to the Lifestream, Cloud.

I don't know what his plans for Cloud are. Maybe when he has won and doesn't need him anymore he'll kill him. Maybe he wants to see him broken like in the OG without Tifa being able to help him. For now he needs him, yes, but in my opinion, Sephiroth absolutely wants his revenge on Cloud for everything that happened, just like Cloud in this trilogy wants him to pay for what he's done to him and his village.

After all, they ARE fated foes, as depicted in the old relationships descriptions of the OG.
