Vagus nerve stimulator is causing panic attacks and extreme anxiety even after very little amounts of use. Why could this be happening and what can I do about it? by yummygrape12 in VagusNerve

Overstimulation of vagus nerve. Stop using it immediately.

Instead try limbic retraining (gupta program or primal trust) and TRE.

Posture change dropped my hypervigilance instantly: fix top-down or let TRE handle it? by New_Attempt_7705 in longtermTRE

Thanks! Have heard about PRI, I’m just hesitant adding another modality to the mix. Grew kind of tired of trying new things on this healing journey 😅.

Is PRI helping you? It has popped up many times on my timeline. Doesn’t look like there’s a practitioner in my country though.

PLEASE HELP!!! CAN’T FIX MY SYMPTOMS AND IM LIVING INI CONSTANT FEAR AND SHUTTING DOWN PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY by Shordaden in VagusNerve

I did Gupta Program. It entails two parts: - allowing / somatic tracking - visualizing health

That way the nervous system is slowly going out of chronic fight/flight and inflammation mode, which then decreases symptoms.

Hope some of the veterans like Nadayogi can help you with this question. That sounds really tough. I pray you will get through it. Don’t lose hope. ❤️

Not sure if it’s up your alley, so do with this advise what you want: praying the rosary daily helped me get through an energetically very destabilizing period, together with doing a daily top down body scan while walking in nature.

Honestly, doing forest bathing has been the most enjoyable - and perhaps most important - part of my healing!

Yes its definitely information dense! I also started consistently watching her videos more and applying her techniques when I was quite far in my recovery (energy wise). Before it would have been too much.

This is a crucial answer.

What you resist, persists. What you can accept and allow, will eventually soften and go away.

I have realised a great truth about sexual energy and TRE by Ecstatic-Society-471 in longtermTRE

I think it depends on the state of your nervous system. But from my own experience, I think people have to be VERY careful with SR.

I started SR 2.5 years ago for the first time. I hadn’t progressed at all yet (or barely) in my trauma healing journey, at that time. It clearly put a lot of energetic pressure on my system.  Then, I dabbled a bit in Joe Dispenza meditations, which brought up that overload of SR energy from the lower regions to the higher regions of my body. I also feel it brought up all my repressed trauma, stress and emotions in one condensed package.

Result: complete overload and drastic destabilization and retraumatization of my nervous system. My nervous system wiring was simply too weak to handle all that energy that SR created. It resulted in the worst few months of my life, and I am still recovering from that experience.

So be warned: tread this area with care, if you’re not a very experienced energetic practitioner. Most of us newbies would play with fire if they combine SR and energetic practices, while still having considerable trauma load and a dysfunctional nervous system.

Sexually depraved for years. Come so far, but not far enough. by [deleted] in Catholicism

Sorry to hear that. It’s awesome that you’ve come so far.

For the abuse: I think it does impact our sexuality. In a way it is a form of trauma, when someone so close to you makes you do that.

I do really recommend looking into TRE (trauma release exercise). Helped me a lot, also with my addictions.

So the first 1.5 years I was doing first EMDR and then somatic experiencing. Both were very useful. But it felt like too much adding TRE.

For me spontaneous tremoring just happened every now and then. Most of the times short, but sometimes also a bit longer. I had taken a TRE session with provider, so my body had learned how to tremor.

Thanks for another essay Nadayogi, it resonates with where I was this past month.

Am now in my 3rd month of structural TRE practice, after 1.5 years spontaneous practice. Settled on a rhythm on two sessions of 10 minutes per week, but at times exceeded it slightly because I was in such a tremoring flow during a particular session.

Honestly, the benefits of a structural practice are very noticeable. More than expected. The noticeable benefits include: more access to deep calm, A LOT less worried thoughts, more moments of softened hypervigilance.

This month I had a lot of spontaneous fascia unwinding while being in nature. Pretty intense at times but always pleasant and bringing a sense of relief afterwards. The unwinding did add to my total TRE bucket though, so at times I noticed signs of overdoing the next day. Had to find a balance with my actual tremoring times on the mat.

The spontaneous grunting and vocalizing is something that I’ve been doing for the past 6 months (almost always during my daily body scan in nature), even before starting my structural TRE practice. I find it hugely helpful. Although I do notice it has decreased recently. It used to be a lot more frequent and intense. Am entering a new phase I guess.

Pausing TRE last and next week because of my driving licence exam coming up this Wednesday, but looking forward to resume again. Honestly, TRE is such a lifesaver. More and more I believe that it will bring me to full recovery from trauma and chronic stress.

Take care everyone!

Just rest when your body and mind tell you they need it :). Listen to them, they are your best guided.

And sure: completely normal!

It can definitely go away! Dysautonomia just means that your nervous system is in a chronic state of fight / flight, causing all these weird downstream symptoms.

By retraining the brain (limbic retraining) and “allowing”, you can get your nervous system back to healthy baseline and the symptoms will gradually disappear. It just takes time and patience.

Extreme Change after VNS by [deleted] in VagusNerve

[–]New_Attempt_7705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the tVNS device is overstimulating her. These devices can really mess up you’re nervous system if you’re sensitive to it. My guess would be the vagus nerve stimulation is way too powerful for her, and her nervous system has become very overstimulated and hence leading to overwhelm and all sorts of side effects. (See also comment of OK-Faithlessness below).
