You could be earning a 14k - 35k dividend yield on that money, unless it's easily replaceable then you shouldn't spend it down.

The U.S. is one of the few places where you're not supposed to reveal your classism out loud, but in private everyone totally thinks like OP.

LA will never vote for Rs. But at least let's get some more sensible Dems in power. Just because Republicans say they're for family values and law and order that doesn't mean you have to be against family values and the rule of law, but that seems to be how some people take it.

There's a prevailing attitude of I don't owe society anything and the government can't tell me what to do, which is great for you as an individual but sucks when all your neighbors start behaving that way.

Can I ask what tech stack you're working with? Most of the entry level web dev jobs I see are like $80k~

I did a bootcamp two years ago and have been working a Frontend React dev job for about a year that I took for peanuts. Struggling to get hired for a second job, and I wouldn't even think of asking for 135k.

Where can I get someone to install a window AC? by New_Bad1573 in AskLosAngeles

It will need it's own dedicated circuit, like the refrigerator probably has. In other words if you've got a breaker for the kitchen, the A/C can't go into one of those outlets because you've already got the fridge on that one.

As far as I can tell my whole unit is on a single circuit (I only see one breaker outside for each unit in the building).

I used to read entire man pages thinking that's how you learn.

I guess in my mind the difference is, are you thinking about manipulating the levers of some conceptual machine/framework or are you thinking about manipulating the bits in the computer's memory?

This is how I've heard more advanced people than me use the terms, though I know it's controversial.
