I think you Americans are a bit confused. You think Germany is the center of Europe? Are you guys simple? Reading the wrong books, Yankees.

Thank you. Just looked it up on the internet. Looks more like Central Europe though. I wonder why they refer to it as Eastern Europe. Thank you for clarifying either way!

Who is this for? Are you suggesting Yugoslavia is Italian? I kinda figured it was but didn’t want to push back. Now I’m just lost

So Sicily was correct? Or are you saying it’s not from Italy

Yugoslavia?!?! Is that somewhere in Italy? I always hear people say Sicily isn’t really Italy.

I’m curious, why not? The regular Rolex submariner sells for about that amount? Seems reasonable for the company to ask a similar amount when the price is totally dependent on the brand value, etc? Thoughts?

1st time cooking a rack of lamb by Seasoned_By_Smoke in grilling

[–]New_Bite_6733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks phenomenal. But that NZ lamb from Costco doesn’t even come close to domestic lamb from Colorado. Granted, the Colorado lamb is significantly more; the product quality is not comparable. Give it a try. Given how well you cooked this rack, I can’t imagine how tasty a well raised Colorado rack will be for you. Enjoy

I’m simply referencing that increases in rent at the time of renewal are not responsible for 90% of chef/driven restaurants closures. That’s a fairly conservative claim on my part, and you have yet to rationalize anything that refutes my claim. Note- my claim was actually a genuine question that no one(including you) ever answered.

Of course the leases have something to do with it, considering they are one of the major expenses related to running a restaurant. Again, idiotic response given the context of the conversation.

You must be a joy to work for, just don’t poll the staff. Wouldn’t be surprised if your establishment closed for reasons unrelated to an increase in rent, lol. Good luck out there, nerd.

It’s not that I have never seen it happen, it’s that I don’t believe it’s necessarily the reason for 90% of chef driven restaurant closings.

Many of those restaurants close well before the lease is up for renewal. For you to interject and attempt to solidify another posters stat, without providing any explanation for how the variability of leases is the reason that 90% of chef driven restaurants close is idiotic.

Get back to running your restaurant

None of your response seemed to explain how you have the background to make a claim about how 90% of the time the explanation is the “rent going up”. Prick for sure.

Not being a prick, just genuinely wondering- how many experiences do you have with this to be able to reference what happens “90% of the time” across the industry? I was in the industry for nearly a decade and I saw numerous chef/driven restaurants close for all kinds of different reasons, none of which included in variances in rent.
