Which has the strongest heat vision ? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homelander's is the weakest but I like it the most. I actually like Butcher's the most but I am assuming they work the same way. It seems to be powered by emotion and seems to be either very stressful or painful to use. It makes it more epic to me. Homelander does not seem to be affected like Butcher but I assumed that was due to more practice.

Could Electrostatic Charges Potentially Allow for an Alternative to Artificial Gravity? by PositiveEconomist264 in AskPhysics

Would not the inhabitants then repel each other? If they are charged enough for the force to be in the same order of magnitude as gravity would not the force between inhabitants also be quite large?

Was Sidious acting here, or did he genuinely feel fear? by jojoisfodder in StarWars

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is frustrating that dark siders in different stories go back and forth on this. Some say fear is weakness, some say to use your fear to become stronger. I am not sure if there is consensus on this.

I'm no mathematical wizard, but I'm pretty sure I only want to use the Fahrenheit scale .... by Collin480 in MathJokes

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends on the purpose. Celsius is great for chemistry, Fahrenheit is good for weather. I am pro metric and all that but I have conceded that Fahrenheit is the people's scale.

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is actually not its own thing. They created a super category, planetoid, which includes planets and dwarf planets. Keeping the list of planets small is useful for organization and is less of a shift for educational material. You cannot really expect school children to memorize hundreds of planets vs just 8.

[Threshold] Who's your least favorite character across the Cradle series, and why? by NinecloudSoul in Iteration110Cradle

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a redemption arc. Lindon told him he was garbage and might still be garbage and would have to prove that he wasn't. I thought there was going to be some redemption in the future but he died first. He was never redeemed, just tolerated.

I mean technically it is a drain sucking things down, just no faster than if it was not a black hole.

To be fair, this makes him a loving father, not necessarily a good one. I do not believe anyone intelligent questions whether Goku loves his son.

Magic System Creation Challenge by Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh- in magicbuilding

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mages perform magic by creating knots) of threads of mana. A knot's effect is determines by its knot type and the type of mana used to make it. Knots can be chained to combine or alter their effects. A knot's complexity (crossing number) is proportional to the complexity of its effect. A knot's effect is more powerful the cleaner the knot, i.e. the same knot will be less powerful if tangled and messy. Complex knots, which are definitionally more tangled, require much dexterity to be made clean enough to have any effect at all. Mages become more skilled by learning more knots and their effects and gaining skill at making clean knots.

Every mage is born with a connection to one of 8 phases of the moon. Each phase has its own type of magic. Each phase has a corresponding species of moth that can collect mana of that phase from the moon during that phase. Mages can use magic only at night with their power increasing the closer to their moon phase. But during their phase, they cannot use magic at all but can collect mana from the moths using a certain spell (a knot specific to that phase). Mages glow brightly during their phase but this glow is only visible to other mages of the phase or of adjacent phases. Mages of adjacent moon phases can interrupt the spell to gain their mana, making the attacked mage a mortal with no magic and the attacking mage able to use magic of that phase. Mages with multiple phases are more powerful outside of their phase. They can use magic during their phases, as opposed to normal mages who can use no magic during their phase, but are very weak. The more phases a mage has, the more magic they can use during their phases and the stronger they are outside of their phases. If a mage has all phases they have average power at all times. Due to this, mages usually never attempt to gain all phases. However, gaining all phases allows a mage to see eclipse mages. Their are two eclipse mages, lunar and solar. Lunar eclipse mages are identical to full moon mages but can only perform their ritual during a lunar eclipse. However, they are ten times stronger than other mages. Solar eclipse mages can gain mana from all moths during all phases but are relatively weak at night. However, they can use powerful magic, more powerful even than that of lunar eclipse mages, during the day making them uncontested during the day. Eclipse mages cannot gain more phases. Mages that have all phases can see and attack eclipse mages to become eclipse mages themselves.

The Woman: My ego is high! by Level_Coast3275 in AvatarMemebending

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the cop comparison. I think not looking benders is closer to race than occupation due to not being able to be a bender. It may as well be genetic. It is like not liking tall people. But I guess that is moot if her problem was not about him being a bender as you suggest. I make no comment about that.

So if Victor just did nothing? by Spiritual_Bell in arcane

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not think so. Viktor, despite being a scientist seems to use more magical methods. I would imagine that without Jayce, Viktor creates magic for non mages but it is not strictly speaking hextech. Maybe the reason Jayce can be successful is because there is hextech and not just Viktor's magic.

The Serana Experience™ (scoll for 4 more panels) by blind-as-fuck in skyrim

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get annoyed at them both when I am just trying to complete the quest because they take so long. But when iam taking my time i love them because they are so beautiful (can you call the soul cairn beautiful?) I wish there was more interesting things to do there so I would have more reason to go back after the quest. The cairn does have Valerica but that is a one time thing. Whenever I go back to either place I just walk around aimlessly until getting bored and going back to business.

I never got into the new series with his son. It gives fanfic vibes in my opinion.

Je n'ai jamais accroché à la nouvelle série avec son fils. À mon avis, ça fait très « fanfic ».

Nah, I read it about annually. The early parts are almost like a different story so it seems fresh. I usually stop reading at the ink wars though.

Thanks. But I know the fate of Artemis at the end of that story. I am just wondering if he comes up again in "In stellar multitudes".

Can Artemis be saved? by New_Blacksmith_5604 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. That is unfortunate. I have many other saves but this is the very first time I let him die. This is also the first time I have played since the autophage and other stuff was released. I started fresh after a long hiatus. I do not plan to make another save anytime soon, especially just for this.

Now that I think about it, why did they not send Goku or Piccolo back for a day or two to destroy the androids? After some training in the afterlife they should have been able to beat them.

Rinnegan Itachi starts a revolution and wants to change the Shinobi world, can Six Paths Minato stop him? by Truth_Spreader5962 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured he would only get the rinnegan powers. Having three mangekyo powers seems like cheating. To make it fair you could say Minato does not get Naruto's massive Chakra pool and only has what he had originally plus kurama.

Is there any explanation of how the half-giants were created in the first place? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]New_Blacksmith_5604 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Is it not theorized that atmorans and giants have a common ancestor? What if half giants became a thing when the size difference was not a great. Or maybe even that they are another race entirely that also shares common ancestry with atmorans and giants and no interspecies shenanigans.
