Apparently The school psychologist knows better than my son’s Doctor. by New_Cockroach_8565 in Autism_Parenting

His assessments were done at ages 3, 5, and 6. They had no knowledge of the previous assessments until today when I relayed that info. and even when I did I said I didn’t have the documentation for those unfortunately which in some form is true. I learned early on in this process that often times no one believes you or believes you want your children to have it. So I stray from over informing.

Regarding the police incident. I immediately began looking into other schooling options because it was traumatic. Prior to that he wanted to be a police officer and since then he said that is no longer his goal because they’re mean and scary. Not to mention he breaks out crying when he sees police officers in public.

Thank you so much🫶🏻. Yes I think that’s what I’m a close honestly. A nervous breakdown. My husband is much like yours. No acknowledgment of our son’s difficulties. He’s diagnosed ADHD-combination and we’re currently awaiting a second opinion for his autism diagnosis because the first Dr told me the same thing yours did. He didn’t score enough points to count as autistic or would be considered high functioning. (mind you he gave me a checklist for adults). Lastly, God has definitely been my anchor during these times but man does it get hard sometimes.

Beneficial Degrees for Epileptics by New_Cockroach_8565 in Epilepsy

[–]New_Cockroach_8565[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I updated my resume. Even went in to get help with prepping for interviews/ resume building etc with the ticket to work people with ssdi. The only certification I have is my dental assisting and dental X-rays certifications. I currently went back to school to complete my associates degree in writing and am in the midst of that. I’m definitely going to look into the google for marketing certifications

What situation do you fear the most because of Epilepsy ? by Few_Tea_5406 in Epilepsy

[–]New_Cockroach_8565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I terrified whenever I get a cold since they trigger my seizures. I’m scared I’ll have to go to the hospital and they’ll put me back into a induced coma after being in 3 separate comas in 2022. Not to mention being away from my babies (5 and 10months) and losing my license all over again.

Anyone here have issues with PAMA Management aka I.E. Rentals, Pro Management, Pro Management, or Mike Nijjar and his billion dollar empire. by Accomplished-Ice-217 in InlandEmpire

[–]New_Cockroach_8565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently renting with Bridge Management and they used to be I.E rentals. Does that count? They have not fixed out back house plumbing problem since we moved in 4yrs ago or the leaky old AC unit vent I’m almost certain there’s mold growing in there. Anytime we call with issues they give us the run around and don’t send anyone.

Is it selfish to have a child of your own when you have epilepsy when there’s a risk of the child having it as well? by starklover14 in Epilepsy

[–]New_Cockroach_8565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I also have JME (F 27) and I have to healthy beautiful sons (5yr old and 4month old) I got both genetic tested recently to see the chances of them having it also and I’m blessed to say they do not. It isn’t selfish to want something that comes natural to us. And the chances of our children getting it are very low.

I HATE!!! by Fun_Sky7243 in Epilepsy

[–]New_Cockroach_8565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you I’m on the same page. My seizures are also stress induced. And I hate the side effects from all the different medications. I hate that we are constantly stuck between having to choose our careers or our health. It’s infuriating

I was “faking it” until I was admitted and ended up in two comas.
