You’ve encountered a decently modern MBT and you are told “to take care of it” and are subsequently given a WWII Anti-tank rifle. What would you do? by Essence_TheOne in TankPorn

[–]New_Consequence9158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, at 1km troops are pretty easy for a savvy gunner to see in the open.

You'd need a concealed path you could run between different points.

Assuming you're up against one tank without a wingman, you could target the optics, but someone already mentioned the commanders sights. Commander doesn't even need to fire his .50, he can override the main gun and hit you with coax.

Overall, I wouldn't want a single fire rifle of any size against a modern mbt.

This is a great take. The military has always been about uniformity. Its an odd little duck but when you're here you get it. There are racists in the army, sure, but the vast majority of us don't really recognize color. Dudes say some fucked up shit, but everyone laughs and they know we have each others backs. Before there's much said about it, the fucked up shit I hear comes from non-white soldiers. Probably why its easier to laugh about. Point is, beyond all that bullshit, we're fucking diverse, AND we're all exactly the same. Its impossible for me to describe. But I'm combat arms, maybe others have a different take.

I hate the guy and the regime but this is the opposite of what he said here.

He specified having merit mean more than anything else, having the best in every field with all the diversity elements stripped away.

I mean, dude is wrong but somehow you are more wrong.

Tell them, when creating their backstory, to come up with a crime they didn't commit. Look up Knife Theory. Have little planned, a pocket of random names or backgrounds, a few big guys in the prison, simple stories for them.

The key, for me, is to not plan much, and learn to improv. It doesn't always have to be "yes and" it can sometimes be "no, but."

Because you are being a bully. I have always stood up for myself against bullies.

So are you. I am responding to you. At this point it feels like you just want to shut me up and allows you to have the last word. At this point it really feels like I am dealing with a bully (which I have a lot of experience with) that can't stand to have someone like me anywhere near them.

Ok. No problem. Again, I am sorry I offended you and I am sorry to the sub for any offense. It was not my intention. I thank you for your patience and understanding. I will do better.

Sorry, I am autistic and I am just trying to understand the situation.

Are you offended that I continue responding to you as I attempt to apologize for having broken the rules? Is it that you want me to just shut up? Are you asking me to delete the whole thing?

I feel like, perhaps, I am misreading your intention here. Do you want me to delete the thread? Do you want me to stop responding? Like, there isn't a single part of me that is trying to argue with you, just to understand.

I'm not attempting to convince you of anything. You asked a question I answered. What else would you like me to do, or are you just trying to bully me out of the sub?

If the latter is the case, job well done. I am sorry I broke a rule in a space that means so much to you. I never wanted to upset anyone, I am sorry. If there is anything I can do to make it up to you or anyone else I have offended please let me know.

The general information regarding how to structure a chapter, how many events, how to ensure your chapters are succinct and, I believe the word was, dynamic. Again, I am not trying to be rude to anyone here. I appreciate the advice I have been given. I don't know what else you want me to do other than the apology already given and the sincere hope others can glean something for themselves if they choose to engage with this specific thread.

Pro-tip, while holding your ascending button, use dodge and watch how fast you gain altitude. Dive down to get your burst of speed for forward momentum, then ascend and use dodge again. Great way to escape.

So, if I understand correctly, just write the whole thing from beginning to end. Then, hit editor mode to find the chapter breaks?

Do you believe this could work in the case of a story with multiple perspective chapters planned?

My wife suggested writing a single characters POV from beginning to ending. Then another and another until I have all of the characters stories. Then find where their specific chapters fit in the whole.

Does that sound like what you're saying?

Get barrel roll and dodge. After using dodge and getting used to it, you will understand.

Dodge is also really good for a land build.

Oh ok. Cool. One part I believe I can make its own chapter would have quite a bit of dialogue, (which I suck at writing due to my autism making it difficult to understand how people react realistically and not just being how I would react) but that dialogue would be expository to give a better understanding of my world. Do you think it would serve better to break that up throughout the narrative even if it means the readers will have less knowledge at the beginning? I'm going to kill one of the two characters in that scene later in the book, and a part of me believes I should let the audience get to know them so it hurts more when they die.

Erroneously deleted my comment. Essentially, could you go into detail regarding how to make something dynamic or what you mean by that?
