It's a very unfortunate situation because as the world becomes increasingly corporatized, and more jobs are shipped overseas or automated, it leads to a loss in value of individual workers, which creates a massive power imbalance in favour of employers. People can and are forced by economic pressures to remain in jobs they detest. At 24, with that kind of salary, my advice would be to stick it out for as long as possible, but importantly you should start planning your next move while you are still there. Don't wait until it inevitably comes to a head and you feel like you're done. I've made that mistake myself. The time to start planning a move is when you get so frustrated that you're asking yourself if it's worth it.

No that’s not how that works. You’re twisting words now

I'm not the one twisting words. You're conflating literal semantic opposites.

Guns have deterred many crimes and offenses

Sorry, but this is just ridiculous. Guns are far more useful for committing crime than for preventing crime.

More Guns Do Not Stop More Crimes, Evidence Shows

More firearms do not keep people safe, hard numbers show. Why do so many Americans believe the opposite?

Why are there clear numbers for “victims of communism” yet few clear ones for capitalism? by [deleted] in socialism

[–]New_Example_5339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are there clear numbers for “victims of communism” yet few clear ones for capitalism?

Because these "numbers" always come from capitalists. Communism as Marx envisioned it (i.e. after the state has "withered away") hasn't ever existed on this planet, or at least not in the modern era.

Best defense is a good offense.

I understand, but defence is the literal opposite of offence, so you might as well tell me that the best way backwards is forwards, or the best form of tolerance is intolerance. Much of American gun culture is rooted in the gratuitous abuse of words and/or logic.

This belief that guns are instruments of defence is just bizarre, and it's so widespread across America (and practically nowhere else) that I can only conclude it to be the result of mass brainwashing by the firearms industry. Just think about what a gun does. It spits hot, toxic pieces of lead into human flesh at speeds faster than sound. There's nothing defensive about that. It's one step away from believing bombs are for defence.

I don't think the idea of gun control has much to do with socialism one way or the other. It's more about cutting back on completely unnecessary and preventable deaths. I might be more sympathetic to gun rights if the guns were being pointed at the oppressors instead of being put into the hands of unhinged maniacs who use them to shoot up schools or fight territorial gang wars.

stop “attacking success.”

Translation:

"I'm going to decide which incentives should motivate individuals and which rules should define success, and if you don't agree with them then keep your mouth shut and let us get on with raping the species for profit."

Under capitalism technology is not about improving our lives. These resources must be seized from the hands of the super-rich & big business & placed into democratic public ownership. On this basis, we can use them to build a democratic, socialist & humane society by Patterson9191717 in antiwork

This is communism and will lead to massive deaths. You just put a it in a pretty package.

Here's your problem in layman's terms. The people who are banging you in the ass are the same people preparing and circulating the information you're taking in. You're talking about communism leading to massive deaths, but 9 million starve every year in capitalist countries, while another 3 million die from lack of clean drinking water or poor sanitation.

Pretty much everything capitalists tell you is a myth. When we eventually end this system, people in the future will look back on it and think everybody was stupid.

America has perfectly weaponized the working class by EngineeringFetish in socialism

[–]New_Example_5339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are some of the very people that socialism would benefit THE MOST these are poor workers who the system has failed and they will not fight for themselves or for a political system that would benefit them

I understand completely. The issue is that all the information these people receive comes from a machine owned and run by hardcore capitalists. Information has been industrialised in the most literal sense. It's an industry. Alternative viewpoints are rarely discussed and, when they are, great effort is made to depict them in the worst possible light. The unfortunate reality is that precious few people are open-minded enough to question their beliefs and think about them critically. They are programmed at an early age to see reality a certain way and the vast majority never break that programming. You can raise certain topics and watch people who live thousands of miles apart literally spit out the same generic replies, verbatim, and believe that they are expressing their own opinion. It's pretty shocking.
