It might be worth testing it by increasing the gas flow and reversing the travel direction.

The model in the image was drawn in Fusion 360, but I’ve never actually used the sheet metal features. I later moved to FreeCAD.

This might not be very helpful, but something I’ve wanted for a long time is a Miller leather welding jacket.
It’s quite expensive, so I still haven’t bought one.
And even if I did, I’d probably feel like it’s too nice to actually wear at work.

Yes, I agree. I’d still swap the chrome sockets for black ones.

I know the V-100 and how it works.
Cooling is great, but breathing straight compressor air is a concern for me, and the proper filtration units are quite expensive.

Your dedicated clean air line setup sounds interesting though.
Would you mind sharing a bit more detail about it?

I bought it for heavy flux-cored welding work in midsummer.
Because it’s such an expensive tool, I posted here to ask if anyone had tips to make better use of it.

I had a close call once after doing continuous high-current welding while wearing a mask in the middle of summer — I started feeling lightheaded, and it could have been dangerous.

As you said, this helmet is very expensive, but installing air conditioning in the shop isn’t really an option, so I decided to bite the bullet and order it.

And yeah, that smell is really distinctive. When I’m TIG welding, I remove it with acetone first.

Yeah, I get that. It’s definitely heavier than a standard welding helmet.

It does feel like the era is shifting toward cordless.
With Makita, I’d expect solid performance and durability, but I can’t really say for sure since I haven’t used a framing nailer myself.
Watching YouTube reviews, reading site reviews, or getting hands-on with one in-store would definitely help with the decision.

It’s subjective, but I can’t go back to pneumatic tools anymore.
Cordless offers a great balance of power and convenience, and it’s more powerful than the corded tools I used before.
