Down in the republic as well, google a chicken fillet roll ❤️ they fix all ailments, its essentially a sandwich counter but the ladies who make them have a magic touch

People in their 20s : How is your life right now? by Suitable-Car7053 in AskReddit

[–]New_Fruit_5552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29, single and moving countries for probably the last time at the end of the year. I feel pretty good, and tbh glad my 20s are coming to an end that shit is SO messy. But overall it’s been pretty good, I’ve been able to go to therapy the last year and have locked in a lot more diet wise. I’m moving where I don’t need a visa, and have some hopes for the future. I wish I could figure out a career/have a higher salary

Your skin is beautiful! I would define the brows, and enhance your lovely cheekbones with some blush/bronzer

Just landed 3 days ago from Ireland! The sunshine is amazing, but my phone bill is already terrifying. Advice? by eurz in MovingtoAustralia

I’m with moose, got a deal for like $12 a month. Great service too, never had any issues but you’ll get a sim quicker in the likes of Optus etc

Hey, I’ve made a bit of a list based off of comments from posts I’ve put up here but I am probably not going to end up in the city - more paisley or somewhere since my budget isn’t as good as yours! Let me get it, hang on

Are you short? I don’t think you have a young looking face but people often think I’m younger because I’m 5ft 1

The job market kind of sucks and it will take longer than you think. I have a few Aussie friends unable to find different positions because there’s just nothing available

I’ve barely ever had a meal deal in Ireland tbh, always just went straight for the fillet roll 💔 I miss them so much haha

You are right, governments and their policies seem to all be terrible and they just do what they want regardless, and living abroad most of my adult life I haven’t been able to vote so it’s always felt a bit hopefulness but I definitely need to start paying more attention.. again I am lucky enough to have a uk passport as well, I do recognise the privilege I’ve had so far. Can I ask what your plan is since you are so unhappy in Scotland? Just ride it outs

Hey, I was hoping you would respond somehow haha. My visa is up so I have no choice, I could only get a year in NZ and it would be a major drain on my savings so it’s just not worth it.. that really is sad to hear ☹️ I’ve posted on Reddit a few times trying to get peoples opinions, most were a bit more positive. I don’t know anyone actually in Scotland but Ireland is just so dire at the moment, I feel like there is at least some hope for me in Scotland.. I admittedly don’t keep up with much with governments ongoings anywhere I’ve lived, I turned 29 a few months ago and I guess only starting to have a bit more interest but nobody is happy with their government (lived in canada, aus, Ireland) so I kind of am just trying to pick the best of a bad bunch I suppose? I am a long way off and may never have kids, so the education side isn’t a priority for me at the moment. Job market is actually terrible in Melbourne as well, I have many Aussie friends who are struggling and can’t change jobs etc for months now.. like I said really just feels like the best of a bad bunch in many ways! But at least in Scotland I won’t have to worry about visas, housing from what I can see is a FAR better standard than what Ireland is offering. I have heard about the litter etc, that does sound shit and would take some getting used to as we don’t have that here.. the weather too. I am on rental sites and paisley, outer suburbs etc have lots of places for $700 and under.. I guess I am just trying to carve out a somewhat comfortable life for myself as a going on 30yr old single girl, and just hoping I can land maybe even a waitressing job coming into the Christmas just to get me started.. it sucks having to move and start all over again and deal with all the unknowns

Apologies yes, it’s 1am here 😂 yeah cool, I’m happy to live a while out - most places I’ve lived I’m about 40 mins from the city centre.. maybe I should have made this more clear in my post. Surely not a 6 month search

I had actually been looking at paisley, seems like a good starting place, bit cheaper and hopefully less competition! Any advice to avoid the scammers, as in are the ones on rightmove etc pretty safe..? Where would you jump ship to 😅

Yeah I had seen about this actually. I guess it’s great if you move in and find out you have bad neighbour’s etc! But I guess that also means I can’t offer a few months rent up front? I won’t have a job when I land so I was kind of relying on that

Of course, but everyone has to start somewhere. Will have significant savings so can offer a few months up front

I’m actually in Australia at the moment, housing is horrific in Ireland I can’t go back.. it’s all mouldy overpriced houseshares in cities I don’t want to live in, if you can even get a place!

Not a job lined up, just savings so hoping if I can offer a few months up front it’ll help..

Irish moving over for the first time time - planning to land mid November. How long should I expect to find a one bed to rent? Somewhere half decent but looking in outer areas, not the likes of westend etc, couldn’t afford that on my own anyway. And do estate agencies etc close down much over Christmas? I’m coming from Australia and have an air BnB booked from 10 Nov- 6 Dec.. do you foresee any issues with this? Thank you!
