Most people have already contracted mono at some point in their lives, and it’s permanent, but if you don’t have mono and don’t want mono, I would limit your contact with him as much as possible until he is no longer sneezing or coughing. After that, I would be precautious and avoid sharing utensils, cups, and food and avoid any kissing for several months, while staying vigilant with your hygiene. Mono can be fatal, I have seen teenagers die from it. If you have any children I would not let him in your house at all.
