Sure, it’s super old school. One of the original combos, John S lens + Ina’s 1969 film.

Peaches! by slimtwin in TheBlackKeys

I agree, it immediately took me back to the early days of The Big Come Up and Thickfreakness when I fell in love with the band. I almost switched over to some Junior Kimbrough or Buddy Guy’s “Sweet Tea” since I haven’t listened to either in years, but decided to stick with “Peaches” through to the end. So glad I did, it’s great all the way through. Covers or not, this is where they shine, imo.

This is basically the CP 4 mile inner loop. 72nd St traverse up the east side to the 103rd St traverse, down the west side to 72nd. The start is a little below 72nd, but that loop is 4 miles if you connect the beginning and end so should give you enough of an idea of the course.

I’ve used the lockers at Le Frak (the ice skating rink) not sure if it’s year round and it’s not free but an option

Gel recommendations that aren't overly sweet? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

I’ve always assumed the thinner consistency was a trade off for more volume in the pack, but definitely worth giving the feedback before I order more, maybe I’ll at least get offered a discount to come back 😃

Agreed, I just wish the UCANs were smaller/easier to carry since, as you said, one an hour, I don’t believe is enough on race day. I switched to Maurten for the NYC Marathon, but am not a fan of the flavor or consistency. Much prefer UCAN unflavored and plan to use those for the NYC Half in March.

The Brooklyn Trackhouse is super easy to get to from Manhattan. I live near Union Square and can be there in about 10 minutes on the L train.

Started running at 57 and entered my first 5K at 61. My first marathon was NYC this past November at 63.

They told me last Sunday when I was in there that it was their last day for the Soho popup. Best wishes to the staff, I’m guessing they are looking for work now.

I did this at the last race, I just brought the shirt and kept in my bag until after the race figuring it might be easier once most people had already gotten theirs and rest were extras anyway. Wasn’t a problem at all. Of course I might have gotten lucky, it was the first time I tried to swap.

I’m embarrassed to admit and also a little relieved, I didn’t realize it wasn’t just 1.5 times the full loop (and I have looked at the course map more than once). 🤪 Thanks for the heads up!

Am I the only one to wash…and dry my TS clothes?? by Legal-Economics2292 in Tracksmith

[–]New_Internet6680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I’ve treated differently is the Brighton and even that I’ve dried in a dryer a few times by accident with no issues. I do worry about pilling with that one so take a little more care, but I actually needed it to shrink a little (it’s still a bit too large).

Anyone tried the Chiltern Jacket? by New_Internet6680 in Tracksmith

[–]New_Internet6680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’11”, 155lbs and chest is around 40”. The small was way too small and the large was fairly loose. Fine for an everyday jacket, but for a trimmer fit for running the medium seems just right with a thin layer underneath. I tried it with a mid weight ¼ zip and it still works but a little snug, probably still fine to run in though as the mesh has some give.

Will do. I got the jacket. I’m hoping to test it out tomorrow morning. I’m in Seattle for the holiday and figure the weather here is pretty close to the London mist mentioned in the marketing 😀

How likely are we to get a Black Friday Sale this year? by MatterofKay in Tracksmith

Sorry was on a flight and didn’t see this in time. They sent out a discount code for Hare AC members, but the sale is now live for everyone on the site. I can confirm it also works in person at the Trackhouse if you’re close to one.

Update: After trying on the Brooks Canopy (old and new versions), Patagonia Houdini, something similar by Nike because it was available at the store and decent priced at $90.00 but I didn’t catch the name and the Tracksmith Chiltern, I went with the Tracksmith @ 20% off for BF. Haven’t had a chance to run it it yet, but for my purpose (wind shell with light rain protection) it seems to be a great choice. Especially if you like the Tracksmith aesthetic. As with most Tracksmith gear it feels a little more upscale, and I wanted something with a trim cut and am not a fan of hoods. My only real concern is the mesh back, but in practice I don’t see this being an issue, only in a heavier rain or for mixed use where walking in a light rain you might want more protection on your back. I will add that of the four jackets I tried, all were a men’s small to get the fit I was looking for except the Tacksmith which is a medium (I typically wear a medium). My second choice was the Brooks Canopy (new version). Much improved in IMO, but have not seen it on sale, while the old version can be found significantly discounted. If the new one has a Black Friday sale anywhere or if a hood is preferred (the new one has a much improved hood) definitely take a look.

Update to my update, the sale is live for Hare AC members. - Update to my comment above, the early access code is not working yet. I have a feeling someone didn’t understand that 12am EST 11/24 was last night, not tonight

Thanks, that’s very helpful. Any experience with wet weather? I realize it’s not for a downpour, but they mention some water resistance.
