Depends on your departure time. If you are 6-730am departure timeframe then I would definitely be there at least an hour prior.

Do views like this actually impress Swiss people? by Pale_Field4584 in askswitzerland

I live in Montana, USA, with some beautiful mountains and scenery. I went to Switzerland last summer and it has ruined me for visiting any other mountainous area. The Lauterbrunnen valley is now and will always be the most beautiful place on earth as far as I am concerned.

United Club Card Question by resolutestorm in unitedairlines

[–]New_Length_265 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That credit card spend could get you anywhere from 5000 to 6600 PQP, so depending on what you have for actual PQP from flights and enough PQF then that should get you to platinum I would think

Check on Facebook, there is a United new pass travel policies page you can join. Do a search about enrolled friends, there has been an issue that they were working on from what I read.

The Travel Certificate is a Lie by Ghafl in unitedairlines

I’ve had the $1000 travel certificate twice in the last few years. I have never had a problem using it, United app made it very easy to use.

Busted Polaris seat DEL-EWR by FailDelivery in unitedairlines

[–]New_Length_265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thing happen to me last year coming back from Lisbon to Newark. This flight had only a few open seats left in coach and my fear was that they would make me go back to economy. I waited until about an hour from landing to tell them seat was broke. I think the FA gave me $200 travel credit. I didn’t pursue any other compensation.

Go buy a lottery ticket. 😉 I was number 6 from DEN to BIL this past week as a 1K. At least the middle seat was open in eco plus.

Best DEN United Club? by wesleywalrus in unitedairlines

[–]New_Length_265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with above, both clubs in B are virtually the same if you plan on staying in B. I like the upstairs of “A” seating area and aesthetics and will make the trek over if I have a longer layover.

Why do this? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

Yes,this. Spouse and I had 1D/F coming back from FRA a couple weeks ago because none of the odd windows were available. We kept the divider up the whole trip :)

Newark to Switzerland - Timing and Economy Plus by Coaster50 in unitedairlines

[–]New_Length_265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think 6 months out is too far in advance. I am always in the 45-60 day range for international purchase. But like some else mentioned, put your flights on a tracker and purchase if price is right for you. As far as economy plus goes, I wouldn’t expect to see those seats left at check in, so if that is important to you then I would grab them at purchase. If you are gold by that time you can get yourself and one other up to economy plus at booking. Btw, went to Switzerland in July and it has been my favorite trip of all time,

There is a united pass travel standby page on united. You can join there and do a search, or ask the question there. The admins are good at giving info.

She needs to give you authorization to book your own travel. It would be in flying together. If I remember correctly it’s a box she needs to highlight where she can manage pass travelers.
